I'm not surprised by any of those reviews as DS is now a complete cesspit of woke idiots who are incapable of having rational discussion with anyone. I really don't see how it can even be called a forum these days because only one viewpoint is allowed.

I'm almost tempted to log back in and see how long it takes me to be permanently banned 😁
Haha. I think I’m going to go on there sometime and see how long it takes me to get banned as well 😂

I was on this website years ago, in hindsight when I was too young for it, I used to lurk on the 'adverts you hate' thread (it was the only thread I ever read on there, I was such an odd child haha) I posted a few times but someone pulled me up on misremembering an actor in an advert (I think I used the term 'what's his face'), and got snottily told who he was and basically talked down to because I had mistaken him! Ridiculously minor and yes I appreciate I wasn't the target audience/age but looking back now it just seems such a hostile/unwelcoming reaction!

I fell back onto DS briefly, can't remember how but someone brought up sam, a prolific member of DS with autism who used to get very very hostile and angry with posters, he hops from forum to forum getting into arguments and demanding he get a girlfriend (and that DS unban him; I found it both scary and saddening to read because it was obvious some posters goaded him) - but I didn't like the atmosphere on DS in general so never stuck around.

Well, there you go. Managed to sign up to DS using an email that wasn’t Hotmail or gmail. Been refused twice before using those email addresses. What an odd little site DS is 💅🏻😂
It might be short lived. I managed to “sign up” too, was logged in with a new username and everything, but unable to post anything until my account was officially approved. Checked a few days later and tried to sign in and I had been blacklisted with a “this user no longer exists” error message 😆

Samthefootball gets everywhere. I think he's been banned from pretty much every forum, including Mumsnet :D :D where he turned up calling the moderators a bunch of bleeps and whining about how he can't get a job, drive a car or get a girlfriend, whereas his stepbrother can. I think he has deep seated issues which will never be resolved unless he takes proactive steps to address them in real life.

I’ll keep a close eye on my account then 😂

Same here only in my last try I was blacklisted in minutes... All I wanted to do is contact a forum member, duck sake!

Lol - the Trustpilot review titled “Full of Leftie Nutjobs” is my review 😂
DS is so extreme now that even people who have always thought of themselves as being basically left-wing, like me, feel utterly alienated there or have been banned.

It's scary.

Never joined DS but used to read it every lunchtime as it one of the few forums that got through the workplace internet filter. Not really tuned into it in recent years, but even way back when, it specialised in thread titles that should have been interesting reads, but thanks to the one-line replies of those labouring under the delusion they were being funny, they rarely were.

It was a bore-fest, largely stocked with the 'witticisms' of Colin Hunt types.
There were a couple of posters called CravenHaven and HarrisonMarks who posted as you described. They ruined every thread they appeared in because of this habit of theirs, especially CravenHaven who was just a crashing bore and never remotely amusing.

These days Doctor_Wibble could fit the description perfectly. I don't think I've ever come across a more boring poster in my life.

Anyone noticed Whedonite on the DS forums? She is one of the worst in terms of constantly seeking to find offence and taking the most harmless of posts and twisting it to make the poster look like an awful human being over nothing just because she disagrees with them and is just in general exhausting and horrible.

People like her make me glad I can't register again.

There was another autistic poster on DS some years ago who seemed to have noise sensitive issues and was constantly falling out with his neighbours because of all the ‘noise‘ they were making, even though it was obviously just normal neighbourly noise like children playing, doors opening and closing, cars being started up etc . He really did believe that his neighbours were tormenting him on purpose, and no amount of explaining made him understand (that was probably part of his autism). He would constantly report them to the council, who did nothing because they were doing nothing wrong, and the neighbours would then accuse him of harassment.

He seemed very vulnerable and lots of posters seemed to goad him. I used to feel uncomfortable reading his posts.

Years ago someone that ill would have probably been in some kind of assisted living, and been a bit more protected from their delusions. Do these sort of places even still exist anymore? Care in the community has been a miserable failure of a movement and it's appalling nothing is ever improved for people like this or those who have to live with them.

There was a poster called Yappy who claimed to be a teenage girl who aspired to be a lawyer but was barely literate. Does anyone recall her?

Well, I’ve still got my DS account after signing up yesterday. Half expected not to be able to sign in today.

I remember her, some people thought she was HILARIOUS. I think 'she' was a middle-aged man mocking teenagers with aspirations above their ability.

Was that Koantemplation? I think that was his name. He'd been on DS since the very beginning. Posters took great delight in mocking him when it was bloody obvious the man wasn't neurotypical.
