It seems like it's literally impossible for some people to re-registered on DS but other previously banned users manage it without problem. It's very weird and seems totally random.

I've been banned about 5 times from DS, however now trying to get back on isn't so easy.

I reckon breaking into the White House is easier than getting back on DS. Crazy that a tacky entertaintment forum goes to so much trouble, really.

I know of some social media sites that decline you as a member despite registering, but keep your email address and any PI and IP details ,and sell them to 3rd party marketing and finance companies.

Not that I am suggesting DS does anything so outrageously untoward of course

I think a lot of frequently PBU’s just use very old accounts they registered aaaaaages ago. They probably have multiple for this reason. I’ve seen some profiles that were registered in like 2004 and had a total of 3 posts but then start posting frequently and they always seem to slip right into a comfortable posting style and quoting posters and arguing etc. My rule is: if there’s a “new user” who dives straight into the politics forum, check the date the account was registered lol.

A bit related to DS...has anyone ever gone on the Sleeping Dogs forums?

They are potentially even worse than DS in terms of biased mods. There is one who just literally yells "bigot" at anyone who doesn't have the most right-on opinion possible, no matter the subject.

Since some people are struggling to get back onto DS - have you been using hotmail/gmail style email addresses? Apparently they don't accept them any more (which is odd, I registered with my gmail account 5 years ago no problem) and want "official" email addresses.

Oh well that explains why my latest attempt has failed, I used an old gmail account and before that hotmail.

I've tried using mail.com and protonmail addresses, and while being at different properties with totally different IP addresses, on my phone, etc. None of it works.

It's laughable. Someone tell Hearst that DS is not homeland security and really doesn't need that level of policing.

Just tried again using a BT internet email account, got locked out within minutes, did it on my PAYG phone.

Can't say I'm surprised, and yet the site owners or the moderators don't seem all that bothered with such bad publicity. I suppose if the advertisers started pulling out they might actually do something, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Never joined DS but used to read it every lunchtime as it one of the few forums that got through the workplace internet filter. Not really tuned into it in recent years, but even way back when, it specialised in thread titles that should have been interesting reads, but thanks to the one-line replies of those labouring under the delusion they were being funny, they rarely were.

It was a bore-fest, largely stocked with the 'witticisms' of Colin Hunt types.

Well, there you go. Managed to sign up to DS using an email that wasn’t Hotmail or gmail. Been refused twice before using those email addresses. What an odd little site DS is

I tried yesterday using my old log in details on gmail and hotmail but no success. . Its been a few months since I last logged in.

I'm not surprised by any of those reviews as DS is now a complete cesspit of woke idiots who are incapable of having rational discussion with anyone. I really don't see how it can even be called a forum these days because only one viewpoint is allowed.

I'm almost tempted to log back in and see how long it takes me to be permanently banned
