BRILLIANT GUY

nobody is better placed to continue Asa.s tradition
I've been a lurker of TV Forum for about 12 years, never got round to joining but I'm going to miss reading it. There's still DS for that sort of thing but the likes of Broadcasting, Satellite and Freeview have become so much quieter of the last year and will continue to get even quieter now that GD is gone.

Hopefully the new forum will be decent.

They are probably wondering what to do now, stay or go elsewhere?
Ironic the lbc thread is now looking very empty, they've killed it.
A couple of loonies like i4U and deisegal with her "special words" may well keep on trolling Steve Allen 😁 They'll probably follow their leader though.
The thing is, DS is still very active, if your into sport, tv, radio, books etc
Bangla's little fiefdom will be quite happy staying put in the radio section talking gibberish and having an orgasm listening to Nick Ferrari every morning.

It's clear that Hearst must have been threated with legal action over what was being posted in the Politics section.
If that is true, then serves them right.

For far too long they allowed hatred to flourish unchecked and willfully ignored by the so called 'mods'. Any attempts by 'Joe Public' to highlight directly to Hearst how bad the forums were becoming, were ignored. I know of FMs who took the time to write directly to Hearst, either through email, or traditional snail mail (registered delivery), only for their correspondence to be ignored the other end.

I also believe this 'cleaning up of social media', would have also applied to the likes of DS. Therefore, they cleaned up their act before they were forced to do so.

I too was getting very close to saying 'To hell with DS'. That is until the changes occurred.

hi again after all the years that have passed

I remember you

I had my Nintendo Wii back then

was ready to transition to PS3

the credit crunch and recession had come to its end

2010-11 eh
Who were you on DS Gordon? You have probably said already, I'm a bit forgetful.

Yes, I very active around that time. I originally started posting in 2008.

He tunes in for 12+ hrs per day, seriously.
I reckon he dreams about Nick Ferrari, Andy Castle, Maajid Nawaz, Iain Dale all greased up and wrestling each other to the death.
With Politics gone he'll be spitting out all his bile on LBC Chitchat. Glad I'm out of it. Loved it when Billy 244 went out with a bang!! a couple of weeks ago. We had some shockers on there over the years, courtesy of the mods not reining them in. Remember soma_? She managed to escape a ban for years, despite endless complaints. Iain Dale even threatened to sue for libel but DS did nothing. Iain described the thread as toxic in a PM to one of the regulars.

Feel better about that do you ?. Did you find that utterly hilarious and felt you had to rush to share it with everyone ?
I remember having a dabble at running forums years ago. It is hard to get members without any content, but you don't get any content without members. It's a catch 22 situation.

Yes, there used to be a good 20+ posters in that thread.
Sad how it has been ruined tbh.
It's just an outlet now for personal prejudices.

Was that the version that everyone on DS hated just for the sake of hating it? I remember enjoying that because it had Jemima Rooper in it.

@ste45 your post #199. (Sorry I couldn't quote it as the screen went funny) Is this the kind of pointless rubbish DS wants to keep, yet get rid of GD?

Oh yes, I remember that name.

I remember watching that too. Was it really 10 years ago? How time flies!

I think people were comparing it to the 70s version and left disappointed. That was before my time (not trying to make anyone feel old) so I never saw it to make the comparison.

Hiya everyone, also a DS poster. Still on DS but with a little bit of a different name. Might try the AV forums later in the year but I like all things you tube so at the moment Digital Spy and tattle are good for now :)

I find that DS members are disappointed with everything they watch, they seem to think they're a bunch of industry professionals who know everything. The ones that hang around in the Corrie episode discussions don't even like the show, they just seem sit there and ag it off for the duration of the episode.

Welcome to all the DS refugees.

It's heartening to know more people than I thought have had enough of DS in one way or another. It really is a hell hole representing the worst kind of toxic identity politics with nobody but the most absolute far left welcome, and the moderators fuel that with gusto. Will be interesting to see how the remaining parts of the board survive as I suspect they too won't be around much longer. The rot is too deep in DS to fix it as easily as closing a couple of parts down.
The thing is many on the non authoritarian far left are/were just as sickened by those toxic mats as everyone else came to be. They’re children unable to deal with the notion that anyone can think differently to them and even more so if that person happens to be on the extreme left, which by the way they are not. Most of us just gave up with them or got banned like GGP.

Hi. I’ve come over from DS too. I read the covid thread every day and got very depressed by all the doom and gloomers in there. I did question if it needed 5 weeks between each lifting of restrictions along with a few others but the usual suspects accused us of wanting everything open straight away. That wasn’t what was being suggested but no discussion allowed.
What is this dog forum being mentioned? Never heard of it. Thanks.

You only get shouted down if you're a Leave voter and anti-mask, vaccine, social distancing, don't believe what SAGE, Parliament and the media're saying (and get branded as selfish and a conspiracy theorist) and pro-choice.

Well I'm very much pro vaccines and masks and the vast majority of people on here seem to be.

For the newbies in exile who salivate at the words Meghan and Harry I strongly suggest you keep out of the threads about the right royal pair or you'll get upset...they take no prisoners :)
