About 2/3 years ago I used to look on DS Forums only on Sundays to read the Liz Jones thread after her MoS column was published. But I noticed that there was a poster who every Sunday used to do little spoof Liz J columns and I admit I didn't read them as that sort of p take had been done to death and I found them boring. Anyway, one Sunday about 2 or 3 posters none of whom I recognised as being on the LJ thread really laid into her.it was horrible. They instructed her to stop doing the little spoofs and were just vile. If I'd been a member I would have muscled in and defended her but a very few did while others jumped on band wagon.. The ones that started the attack didn't return to the thread after upsetting her, nor did she, she was obviously hurt and said she was sorry her posts had angered people and wouldn't post again. Then she died a few weeks later. It made me feel really sad that her little bit of enjoyment was ruined by typical DS people and I was sickened and I never went back to DS since.i used to think she probably looked forward to her Sundays on that thread and they made her leave it.

I remember that It was very sad. I think she had a lot of experience in journalism herself and used to write anecdotes. The person who targeted her hadn't even posted on the thread for a few years.

I'd like to see DS Forum put out of its misery, it's no longer a discussion forum so what's the point in it. I've visited twice this week and not found a single thread worth reading compared to about 5 years ago when there would be at least 2 to 6 threads on each of the sections that interest me.

It's just a shame there doesn't seem to be another forum as big as DS other than maybe this.

Over the last few years the moderation over trans topics has become extremely heavy-handed, for some reason or other.

I was jailed for transphobic comments, well so they claimed.

The mods do lie, even over the most stupid things. This is what I wrote in the first few pages on the first thread:

Those mods don’t know their arse from their elbow. I contacted them once and asked them why they had taken away a certain feature that used to be on the site. They replied back saying they never had that feature at all and wasn’t planning to implement it. I emailed them back with a link to a 10 page thread I made a few years before about said feature. No response after that

I mean, it’s not important but I just don’t get the need to lie over something so pointless!? Or, if it was a genuine mistake or oversight, to fire a quick reply back to say something like “it looks like we did used to have that feature but it was decided to remove it”.

exactly why lie over things, i did what you did anytime i got a warning, i sent them proof of the way they made up a reason for the warning i got that had no bearing on the post , whether they only have certain responses to give i dont know, but their reasons for warnings never matched, i got a ban for mentioning people on holiday and they said mentioning bans is against the rules, which fitted, but then when someone mentioned me being on holiday and i reported nothing happened, the mods even said they thought the person was being kind by warning me about another ban , which is against the rules like they had told me , so they ban for one reason and ignore it for another , after little things like that over the last 18 months, the last 2 months was spent winding them up, before i told them to delete everything and shove their forum

Thank you for coming back to fully explain your situation. Unfortunately it seems like nothing has changed, it seems to have become even worse. I also keep saying I no longer trust the DS mods, something changed in the last few years and not for the better.

yeah , it was starting affect my mental health , it started about 2 or 3 months ago, i was seeing so many people banned for nothing and the mods then not helping others, myself included, the first couple of weeks by spamming the alert over a real rule break was satisfying, you have it in your head that its annoying them, but then i became obsessed with finding things i could report and prove to them they were not doing their job properly , it just made me feel depressed and really down, obviously lockdown hasnt helped, i think it all sent me a bit delirious tbh

They seem to infect any thread I've ventured into lately on DS with this know-it-all attitude and sense that everyone must bow down to them; shouting at users for starting a thread that don't like and just generally being a pathetic excuse for a human being. Heaven forbid you have a different opinion to them - political or otherwise - as they'll make you know how wrong and scummy you are.

They are a dreadful, dreadful user and yet another who seems to get away with some truly terrible things and yet others have been banned for far less.

The decline of DS is down to the likes of Boo Radley75 who think they own the world and it should bend to their world view.

I saw that this morning. Thought about asking what she was on about, but a) couldn't be bothered and b) she would probably report me for daring to query her post !!!

Diesigal mentioned a couple of times on there that she grew up and lives in the Republic of Ireland. From time to time she used quote names and phrases that she'd hear voiced in the vernacular. I haven't been on the LBC thread to see, but maybe it's something to do with that.

They were a user who was caught up in a load of lies. Such as pretending to be South African (for example they’d pretend to run each morning to other cities that would take hours. Mention foods that wouldn’t be eaten together usually but they would definitely be mentioned in popular South African dish lists that are easily googled)

They lied about having a girlfriend Kate and said she proposed to her and the ring picture she sent and claimed was the ring was actually a Reddit post from 2 years ago. Also Kates family didn’t like them and made them break up with her because she was a South African who had covid.

They also had a penchant for acting inappropriately with other members.

Speak in a vernacular that no actual lesbian in her 20s would speak “flick the bean” as an example. I am a lesbian myself have never said that in a sexual context. Nor have any of my partners or lesbian friends have.

I don’t know if this is true but would constantly exclaim how they had a drinking issue and had gotten herself arrested for buying wine illegally as South Africa had a prohibition on alcohol at the time during their national lockdown to prevent covid transmission.

Several users had caught onto her inconsistencies , such as the amount of time to get to a certain airport. Them saying one thing and then in another post the opposite.

DippyDi had similar posts. Talking about how they were a lesbian. Having the same favourite TV shows. They described their girlfriends habits in the same way such as the way her gf annoys her by the way she fidgets in her sleep. Their love of rum and raisin ice cream and Cornetto ice creams. The way they describe what they are wearing eg, “oversized shirts and socks”

I think lockdown has finally got to me as I’ve fallen down a hole and am wondering how the fuck multiple forums are getting the wool pulled over their eyes by this person. I’m fascinated.

Thank you. I come here on the tail end of her being found out. but DD caught my eye as soon as she joined DS, the way she spoke was like she was trying to attract hot-blooded males and was a lesbian to boot, She chated like every 15yo boy fantasy. So probably male and a virgin

He used to go on, and on, and on about the most trivial of things. He hasn't posted in a couple of years, but I remember he was trying to sue a Pub/Restaurant for some reason or another.

His wife had dwarfism. He was OK at first but then his postings got more bizarre and angry as time went on.

No, her mum had her own account. Goonst was real and she was a highly intelligent young lady, Not saying she didn't set out to shock but most of her stories were real. I remember when people said Catholics schools were no longer as she described hers. But hers was an awful school and she wasn't lying.

Fair enough. I'll take your word for it. I'm just saying that I can understand how her posts raised an eyebrow, even if she was real. I don't think she deserved any aggro she got though.

thats the thing , he is allowed a vile opinion because he is self righteous, he must have spent every day of this calendar year indoors and spoke to know one to have opinions like that , if he has stepped one foot outside then going by his own twisted logic he is just as bad and just as likely to pass on the virus.

Yet tell the truth and call him a cunt and you would be banned, calling him that is not even libel as its fact

If I ever want to get myself banned I might come out and say that to someone like him (I know a way around DS's swear filter).
