It was hilarious. He and some other old fart were planning to drive hundreds of miles to meet up and settle an argument they were having. Something incredibly banal to do with traffic rights of way I think. They went on and on for ages, about where to meet and when and Bulletguy began to weasel out of it, demanding that the other bloke pay his petrol. They both ended up with a ban. That was a good day on DS
I’m amazed I never got a ban in all my years there, with the batshit moderation. I got into plenty of arguments with various people. I was JulesF there.

It was strange but that was the level of moderation over there. And he did thoroughly deserve a ban, just not for that.

Yes. There was some sort of glitch and it could briefly be seen by regular members. I think it’s fairly standard for staff to have their own forum to discuss how the site is run, but the DS mods deleted any mention of it on there which made it seem more secretive than it actually was.
A poster I've not noticed before is making some great comments today on the AVF Trump thread, regarding the poll at the start of the thread. Someone called BlairH is highlighting how out of touch and ill-informed a lot of the regulars are, given that 68% polled predicted that Harris would win the US election! 
This has predictably outraged some of the lefties, several trying to justify themselves by claiming that the poll was really a prediction of who should win, rather than the actual question of "Who will win". That type of reasoning could only happen on AVF!
BlairH's latest posts in the thread are bang on the money....
"The poll was not whether you're endorsing one candidate or another. The question was who "will" win. The poll suggested -with relative certainty- that Kamala would win. If that's the assessment of the US political scene here, then that suggests it's not particularly well-placed to assess the results of the Trump Presidency.
For those of us who speak to Americans, or who actually get their news from a diverse array of sources, it was obvious Kamala wasn't going to get anywhere. The interest in her campaign was 100% astroturf; and a cynical gambit to quickly unstick the donations. They outspent the Trump campaign by a significant margin; and still lost."

AVF is avforums.com a really good review site and discussion forum for hifi and home cinema stuff
It has a politics section, which is why a lot of DS people migrated there after DS closed their politics section. They were welcomed by the site owner because he wanted more women on the site, naturally hifi stuff is a male hobby.
AVF politics section is just another left wing echo chamber with terrible mods despite the owners insistence they welcome both sides of the political spectrum. That's just him gas lighting

the owner said he was shutting it down due to time/resources. He then got persuaded to keep it open a little bit longer but ended up closing it anyway.
I was on Diabolik. It worked the same way as the celeb and influencer threads on here, just about DS posters. There were a couple of not-nice people on there, but the real nutters were usually got rid of quite quickly. Most of the posters were just there to chat and carry on discussions and arguments that would have got us banned on DS. You weren't even allowed to say "Diabolik TV" out loud on DS, and there was a misconception that you had to have been banned from DS to post there.

When the the DS GD and politics forums went in 2021, somebody from DS set up a new forum. I've been trying to find it, but no luck.
They’re on DS still but now in Broadcasting and Advice.
