Describe your dream house

my dream house would be not too big not too small, definitely a 2 story house with a balcony upstairs and a terrace/porch downstairs, kind of in the middle of nowhere feeling, beneath a mountain but still close to the sea and close to a city. but not a lot of people around me. garden to grow veggies and space for animals.

a light green or light blue kitchen with lots of windows and plants! the kitchen is very important for me so i have lots of inspiration photos:

everything in the kitchen would match & i'd have a separate pantry (organization porn):

huge living room and most importantly a separate library/office with bookcases completely covering the walls.
this would be a realistic idea:

but if we're talking proper dream house, then i'd go all out like this:

downstairs bathroom with funky colorful tiles & features like this:

bedrooms and other bathrooms upstairs. my bedroom would have an en suite and a walk in closet. and a sex room of course

Dream house in UK would be a barn conversion. I like original feautures such as wooden beams, exposed brick walls and original wood flooring, big fireplaces.

Dream house abroad would be a Greek stone villa (either in Cyprus or on one of the Greek islands as my roots are Greek).

My dream house would be in a quiet area and not far from a quiet isolated stretch of beach.

A shower room with built in seating where, if you want, you can just sit down, lean back and just let the water rush down on you

I'd like a separate utility room so there are no white goods in the kitchen

We've recently moved and we're getting a new kitchen soon and my one desire is for a kitchen without an island, and that is the only achievable thing with regards my dream home at the moment

That, or a detached house with 0 neighbours and noise. Complete contradiction I know.

We already built our dream house and we are now working on the dream garden.
We have a smart house in a rural location by the beach. No neighbours just cows and sheep.

All bedrooms are en-suite and we have a large master suite with a dressing room that hides the secret entrance to the bathroom. I insisted on double sinks for the bathroom as well as a walk in shower for two and a large freestanding bath. My husband got his dream of his own cinema and music room and once COVID hit we added a gym in separate building outside. There is a library, snug, living room, dining room and a big kitchen with walk in pantry, utility etc. Our rabbits also have their own room

Outside is 1.5 acres of garden and two further buildings that are used as workshops. We’ve just started paving our new sunken garden and there are plans for a bespoke Japanese style summerhouse to be built and a big bunny playground for my rabbits.

We sacrificed a lot of time together to have this place. My husband works away a lot and it’s important that he has somewhere truly special to come home to. We don’t have children which seems to particularly shock tradesmen given the house is pretty big but it only ever feels big when we can’t find one another

I came from literally nothing … I didn’t even have a bed growing up. The fact that my ‘mother’ currently lives in a home that would fit in my kitchen does make me laugh out loud sometimes .

my dream house has to be somewhere along the mediterranean; an old apartment maybe from the late 1800s that has high ceilings and wooden floors and big windows with lots of natural light and a couple of balconies.

I like lots of white with walls covered in art and isolated elements of colour - like skirting boards, ceilings etc.

my taste is eclectic and not v put together. As long as I have a huge unit to store my books and floorboards that squeak when you walk on them, I'll be happy

Oooh, my kind of thread!

I love watching American, made-for-TV movies - if only for the houses.

I especially love the Spanish-looking homes with gorgeous gardens and pools ... just stunning. The interiors would have to be Hamptons-style though - I can't stand terracotta tiles in the actual home (outside, and on the roof, they're beautiful).
