And I’m one of the idiots who bought those books for my children.

At least I know not to pass them on and to recycle them at least.

His books sold well and made him an asset.
He employed expensive lawyers due to his wealth who had the clout to shut down rumours and allegations.
He did all those channel swims for charity.
He loves his mum.

Another Talent who operated in plain sight and considered himself untouchable.
Jimmy Saville also did lots of charity work!

There was something on private eye that said that The Sun, who would normally be all over this sort of sleaze story, were told to back off as they are owned by Murdoch, just like his publishers Harper Collins.

He's a clout chaser, he's always dropping hints about "high profile investigations".

He doesn't behave like a professional ex-officer should, and he's given far too much credit for Savile.
I'm new to this thread, but I'd like to say @Harlot O'Scara John lydon (Johnny Rotton) I think was back in the 70s tried to expose Savile and was gagged. He said everyone knew but he was protected. So you're 💯 right about him getting credit .I don't care for MWT, or the programs he make, probably because I don't agree with the narrative he's putting forward.
As for Walliams, my late sister said years ago there's something about him she couldn't stand and something will come out about him.

That's not true about John Lydon. It's a myth that's grown out of a very small thing he said in an interview in 1978. He's doing normal punk tit-talking and saying he'd like to kill some famous people.

The interviewer asks who, and Lydon stalls for a bit, then says one of them would ve Jimmy Saville. The interviewer asks why, and Lydon says, "Because he's a hypocrite. I've heard some rumours. We've all heard some rumours."

That was all he said.

The BBC said they banned him because he wouldn't stop swearing. That may have been a cover for some other reason, but he never did anything to blow the whistle on Savile beyond that interview, he never mentioned it to anyone else, he wasn't some great campaigner about it and he had only heard rumours, as he said. It's a weird urban myth that he's a noble silenced whistleblower.

I'm sure Walliams is a massive creep, still.

There's celebrities who go on game shows and chat shows who are happy to rip the piss out of themselves. He never is. He always has to be putting someone else down, under the guise of 'jokes.'
He’s the same on the Podcast, he can’t let ML have any moment it seems, all subtle digs and cuts him off if he says anything of any interest .

I don’t know if I believe all the rumors regarding ML, he’s had a tough life as far as I can see, and he’s smiling bright still… so it’s a uneasy listen on the podcast to have his supposed friend try to kick his legs out from under him as they chat ..

Sorry, by recycle I meant in the household paper/cardboard waste - certainly not in any condition to be identified and reread!
If you donate to a charity shop they can send them off to be recycled and they get money for it - I worked in one when the Rolf Harris stuff came to light and had lots of stuff donated that I sent off to be recycled.

The biggest issue for me is that time and time again it's "the system" that allows these abusers to carry on for years and in some cases even protects them (Epstein as the biggest case in point), the entertainment industry as a whole is full of abusers - music, film, tv, publishing - they're bleeping everywhere and even in 2026, in some cases, are deemed important enough to continue covering up their crimes.

How many times have we heard women being told to stay away from certain "stars" or make sure you are never alone with them?
WTF?
Same as we've always been told to be careful of how we dress or behave around certain men.
How about the same effort being put into telling the actual abusers to stop, that their behaviour is unacceptable and that they cannot continue behaving in this way

Don't upset The Talent and ruin a moneyspinner for our organisation. Turn a blind eye and put up with it.

Yes, and also "the system" doesn't really exist - it is made up of individual people. People who knew what was happening and decided not to do anything. I was pushed from a workplace a few years ago for blowing the whistle on a man. 3 other women told me he'd done the same to them, but they wouldn't speak against him on the record, so it was just me. It was awful.

"The system" can always be blamed because it's faceless and lets individuals get away.

The rest is entertainment have done an episode on him.

They basically lay into harper collins who were sending women in pairs to protect them.

Richard Osman shared that successful childrens author back catalogues are worth $$$$, more than new books. So he thinks they will keep him on in their catalogue but not promote him and not release any new books.

I think what makes these celebs' egos go through the roof is that they're constantly referred to as 'the talent'.

Really hiding in plain sight how vile.
A smug predator, why this was not reported on at the time and why his team thought it a brilliant idea?

Ugh. The comments though, adulation from parents. Sick.
