Is the different direction hiding Dave behind the drums and looking for a singer, I wonder.

Well, it could be that FF pulled out for reasons that have nothing to do with DG, for example illness of other band members etc.

But given the recent news it seems likely that it is because of his current family issues.

Fan forums mainly. Certain fans that follow the band having ‘close’ relationships with him and it being an open secret.

Yeah tbh I don’t know what the offspring of the rich and famous are sposed to do - would any of us have worked shitty office jobs if we had a choice. Maybe more charity stuff? Dunno.

Can’t really see that Slash’s blended family member was even being that nepo-y. She was a tattoo artist - maybe that was cushioned by not having to worry too much about income 🤷‍♀️

Is she really a pornstar or is that just a way to put the onus on her for being too sexually audacious and him not being able to resist? Seems like a convenient way to shift the blame.
Looking online he allegedly had a 15 year affair with a woman called Annabelle who was something to do with porn. Jennifer works behind the scenes on films in some capacity.

I don’t believe his family knew of his cheating, he’s always played the “nice guy family man”, which has now been completely destroyed. Maybe he struggled with losing 2 important people in his life in such a shoe space of time, lost the plot a bit and found comfort in a groupie’s vag, whatever the reason it’ll be interesting to see where he goes from here, career and family-wise

If anyone has seen the film studio 666, it’s all a big “pisstake” of Dave pushing the band to make a record, and him wanting it all his way.

Life imitating art and all that

style of drumming honestly comes down to it a lot too. roger was always upright almost jazz style stacatto drummer (charlie watts being another great example of one who was able to tour right into very old age, also drummed in a very chilled way).

taylor was always on the more frantic scale when you watch him and had a very hunched style. he was already experiencing huge issues with his back and wrists (like a lot of rockier drummers do), not to mention the general strain on his heart from playing like that for hours and months at a time.

that rolling stone article linked above has stayed with me since i read it because none of the other drummers had any reason to lie or mislead (all big names themselves). i think it sadly is true that taylor felt a bit indebted to and in awe of dave, and so was trying to power through long tours when he was in pain.
He did look like he started to develop a hunch back towards the end didn’t he 😢

I think the article is interesting. I don't think it should be used to prove that Dave pushed Taylor too hard. Taylor was a grown man, he could have said", this is too much, something has to change or I have to leave". It sounds to me like he was letting off steam to his friends about his workload rather than making it official.
The whole narrative RS picked to go with in that story is so messy that I shake my head over how anyone can take it as gospel or even Taylor's final word. There's an account that's built its whole worldview around it to blame Dave for killing Taylor...like Taylor wasn't a 50 year old ADULT who couldn't speak for himself.

It also bears mentioning that Matt Cameron and Chad Smith both retracted the statements they gave to RS. No matter how badly some want to believe they don't count as retractions. They did. Get on with it.

Every band member is an equal partner and publishing credits are distributed evenly. They are all officers in the band's LLC. The only part where that differs is Dave being president of Roswell Records, the label that releases the band's music (RCA/Sony has a distribution agreement).

I find it interesting whilst reading about this over the past few weeks is how many have blamed Jordyn or tried to excuse his behaviour.
‘She married a rockstar, what did she think would happen?’, ‘they have an open relationship’, etc etc
Granted, they may have had an open relationship but there’s no evidence of that.
And yes he may be a rockstar but he made being a family man his whole brand. He had married, had three children with Jordyn, she seems to have put whatever career she had on the back burner to raise the children yet somehow it’s Jordyn’s fault that Dave cheated?
And again, even if they did have an open relationship I’m sure there is a mutual understanding that you don’t have unprotected sex and put your spouse at risk of god knows what.
Argh, sorry but this has been bugging me for weeks.

And now I feel like Dave will most likely be more angry that he’s lost some of his reputation than the fact he’s fathered a child outside his marriage at nearly 60.

I wish they would revisit that article that came out after Taylor died about Dave and his behaviour. I feel like Taylor was enamoured with Dave to the extent he couldn’t say no.

The 1 star Goodreads reviews on Dave’s book are gold

Just a couple of thoughts here. I don’t believe anyone here has said it’s her fault he cheated. There is literally no suggestion of that at all. What has been said is that him being a rockstar is pretty much a guarantee of him having affairs is a valid point. Very few, if any, remain faithful to spouses-this is very well documented.

Also, he is not nearly 60. 59 is nearly 60. It’s bad enough as it is, and that the new mother is likely 20 something at best.
