Am I being too harsh to just cut this relationship off now?
You’re literally living your best life travelling independently through some amazing places, why the hell would you waste a second of your time on someone who’s had 4 jobs in 4 months and cba getting out of bed!? 🗑🗑🗑🗑🗑

I got a headache trying to read that. He’s an idiot, he can offer you nothing. His ego is bruised hence the phone calls and nonsensical rambling. Another red flag. Block again, and don’t unblock this time.

The date went well! He was absolutely hilarious and my belly and cheeks hurt from laughing so much.

No idea where this will go, but I had the best time tonight and was a pick up I really needed, actually

I feel so bad on the guy I was seeing, he was so lovely and he took it bad when I ended things last week.
I realised I had to take a long break from dating to both protect myself and the feelings of others.
I'm just not in a place where I can share my life with anyone.

I have deleted Bumble and deleted random chats with guys that I have hooked up with in the past.

Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I sat and watched Netflix properly without lifting my phone and seeking attention /validation. It was a big day for me.

I think a few of us on this will really benefit from the sabbatical we are taking from dating and it's great that we have the support of each other

A. You refuse to block him in case you want to unblock him and message him - you're keeping it going.
B. Nothing physical has happened, just online - and you'd be ok with that if it was your partner? Of course you wouldn't.
C. You don't know his girlfriend and don't owe her anything? Really?? What about common decency?
D. The fact that you're in a shitty relationship and have been emotionally abused doesn't excuse you behaving badly to another woman.

I appreciate you're unhappy and want to feel good about yourself but you're looking in the wrong place, regardless of the girlfriend and how unfair it is on her this man is obviously not a good one and isn't going to give you anything in the long run, it will be you (and her) that gets hurt which by the sounds of it you really don't need right now.

A. I'm not keeping it going, it's finished.
B. Nothing physical happened just online
C. I don't know his girlfriend and quite frankly I don't owe her anything
D Sorry but when you've been emotionally abused for 20 years and someone makes you feel good you are inclined to go with it a bit

Been dating for about 3 months now. He's the guy who plans out a lot of our dates and makes them really fun, listens and remembers the little details, respects me, makes me laugh and genuinely is probably the nicest man I've ever dated. Also helps that he's 6ft4 and gorgeous so feel like I've hit the jackpot here after years of dating toxic, narcissistic men 😅. If I'd have met him a year ago I'd have been like "ugh he's so nice, I've got the ick and I'm bored byeeee." But after some therapy, self love and a lot of patience I think I'm ready for someone to actually treat me well.

You move from one option to another.. and it’s none stop. You aren’t even having a one day break before moving onto the next or that’s at least how it appears. It wasn’t even 48 hours ago you had a nutter on the scene and only yesterday you said you would focus on other things. You said the last one was lovely too and look how that turned out.. i would be seeing it as a lucky escape and wondering why I needed to have a mans attention so badly.

Totally agree With people not getting it. I was chatting to my Mum the other day and she asked why I looked sad. I just said, Mum I feel so alone. She said, ‘I’m alone too darling’. I was like wtf where’s Dad? She said ‘Oh he’s upstairs’……

Well you’re not fucking alone then are you, knobber!

A power cut? 🤨 What in the 1995 is this? We’re not using landlines anymore, unless he was scaling the side of a pylon to get the power back on, that’s one of the worse excuses I’ve heard since the tried and tested Dead Nan.

Anyone that starts with “I’m not trying to be funny” is someone that is never going to be funny and is probably going to be a neggy cunt. I wouldn’t engage with this nonsense, because that’s what it is. He’s throwing his toys out the pram and seems to be trying to wear you down. You deserve better. What age is he?

New to dating and new to the forum. Signed up to a few dating apps for the first time ever. What should I look out for? I really want to meet someone new but I’m also quite scared and reading bad experiences on here doesn’t help. Is this normal?
The guy I am currently dating is lovely and so far it has been great. No red flags or questionable behaviour . If it was to end tomorrow I would mark it as a positive experience.

You have to remember that people come to this thread when they have a concern not to solely report on a good experience. Don't let the stories turn you off ❤

Use this thread as an advantage, you'll be able to suss out red flags and you can use us all as sounding boards. Dating can be a nightmare (I have a lot of experience) but it can be so much fun and exciting too

We ended up speaking on the phone and he kept saying yeah well I’m going through some stuff. I told him unless you tell me what surely not relevant to the situation and you can’t expect me to care? Apparently there’s a difference for him between needing work and needing money 🥴. He said it’s agency work so not a guaranteed shift and he’s going to have a fresh start from Monday. Now he’s trying to act normal with me but I’m not in the mood at all to entertain the situation, then I feel mean because we do get on well in other aspects 😱😂
If anyone wants an update on this absolutely tragic man. He started trying to row with me more after wasting a lot of my day speaking about it so he is blocked now. Good riddance you annoying weirdo

This 👏👏👏

I'm the exact same, lazy men with no drive are the biggest turn off for me.
Enjoy your trip and don't give him a second thought ❤

Would this give you the ick/red flags?

I am away in the south of France on my own, I’ve been to st tropez, Cannes, a chateau and now Monaco. I love solo travelling and meeting local people etc. On one night in st.Tropez I had the most romantic amazing date ever, only ended in a peck and swapping numbers though nothing too wild.

Ive been seeing a guy at home, no discussion as to what we are and whether we’re exclusive or anything. He was acting a bit short with me yesterday so I said are you in a mood and he was like why don’t you give the attention to the guy who’s taking your photos for you 👀. The guy took onephoto for me on the date, of me ALONE with a nice view behind me but the rest were taken by waiters etc. He kind of got over it, I didn’t mention the date with someone else because I’m on holiday I don’t want arguments.

during my whole trip he has been messaging me about how he needs work, he’s stressed because he was working for a friend and that’sdried up so he’s trying to make money etc. Even though I’m away I’ve tried to be as supportive as possible. He found labour work and started yesterday, then this morning has decided he can’t be bothered to go in. I said that’s icky, because lazy men really are icky and this is the 4th job he’s had in the 4 months we’ve known each other. He’s now sent me the most childish messages ever having a row with me.

Am I being too harsh to just cut this relationship off now?
It sounds like he’s not very happy in himself and his life and he’s trying to bring you down with him. At this point he’s literally giving you nothing but aggravation.

Time to move on I’d say. Plus once you have the ick, it’s almost impossible to move on from it.

ETA: those messages show he’s an illiterate passive aggressive prick. Get him in the bin 🗑
