Yes the fashion side of things for both Dani and Callie has really fallen on the wayside over the last two years. Dani is stylish yes, but the oversized look in boring colours wouldn’t be my style at all so her looks aren’t appealing to me. I do appreciate her trying to bring looks from skinny size to plus size though. The idea is great, the clothes that are chosen aren’t.

It’s a horribly sneaky thing to do. Say for example, I clicked on her swipe up and it took me to amazon then I closed the link and went about my day without buying anything. Then later that night I open amazon on the app and make a purchase for say... a TV that costs £500.

DV will get a percentage of that sale via the Cookies on the browser. And if even 2% of her followers did that over the period of maybe a month.... she can make money!

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment behind her creating her 'love looks', what I don't think is ok is that she is AL items that she hasn't actually purchased herself!

That really gets on my tits....how can you be recommending something you’ve never at least tried on

Her time researching the looks and finding plus size options to replicate them is worth her getting the AL$ from in my opinion... I love seeing Pinterest styling looks in my size... she takes the hard work out of it for me. God knows it’s hard as fuck to find a lot of stylish plus clothes.

Edited to add that there is a risk in all online purchases... will it fit? Will the quality be ok??? I’d be buying new clothes anyway why not follow her advice and get things that I know will look good together. That’s why I chose to follow her on IG... I like her style.

to be fair to her, if she was being gifted all of those clothes people would be annoyed. I think you can still suggest plus clothing to people without having worn it yourself, if you like it try it yourself and send it back if it’s not what you thought.

Agreed, I actually really like those outfit ideas she does even tho I’m not plus so they’re n/a to me? It’s a throwback to the ~origins of blogging for me which is fun & the suggestions feel more genuine when she’s not being actively paid to flog them... am aware she uses aff links but completely different to being paid to promote a particular bag or brand imo

CT was the same ! When she did the infamous tv interview back in the summer she implied she was a regular gym goer ! Couldn't be further from the truth. They all go where the money is and if that means stretching the truth / lying well so be it. Not many have the integrity to turn brands down when money is involved ...!
