Can somebody explain if rentals work differently in the UK?

how many years has she lived in the UK? How many years worth of good rental references for the uk would she have by now?! Sick of her complaining that people don’t take her seriously because of her job. I own investment properties in Aus and it doesn’t matter to me what they do for work, as long as they make enough to cover rent and are neat and tidy.

I rent in the U.K, they’ve never asked what we do for a living, they just want to see we earn enough to cover the rent and asked for one reference from a previous property we rented or someone from work.
