Somebody mentioned he had only done phase one training. That training still includes learning how to stay out in the field undercover, weapons training, bayonet fighting, first aid and staying out overnight in the field, they do a couple of days/nights, then the following week 3 days/nights and it ups every week for the 14 weeks of training.

I heard it was an hour before they started looking.
Yeah about an hour sounds right, maybe a bit more even, as it was 20 mins before they realised he had gone and and another 25 mins before they informed the police!

I think if he really was selling information that was actually bought by Iran and he was an actual spy he would have been in a more secure prison and definitely not working as a chef. Unless they didn’t actually know the extent of it but from what we do know I’m leaning more towards he was a bit of a fantasist.

The Chiswick search is following confirmed sightings overnight.
I thought that too but apparently he was being held in Wandsworth awaiting trial, that's where the majority of terror suspects are held. After his trial, assuming he was found guilty and depending of what charges, he could have been moved to a more secure prison.

On the radio this afternoon some legal “expert” said his trial will now be delayed until next year as his solicitor will claim he can’t be tried fairly right now due to the publicity. If this is true then he has a long time in Belmarsh waiting to see if he is found guilty of spying. Presumably being found guilty of Absconding is a dead cert.

The name and appearance suggests some heritage from that part of the world, and Iran in particular are unlikely to trust anyone who doesn’t have a specific link to Iran beforehand.
His name seems to indicate Arabic rather than Iranian heritage. I wonder if he was caught in a sting operation where he was trying to sell to a high bidder and "Iran" was a taker rather than any direct link with Iran? Pure speculation on my part though, it goes without saying. But very interesting points throughout this thread.

So the initial report said he was caught in Chiswick but now sky is saying it’s greenford. And I’ve also seen somewhere else that it’s northholt. Where was he??
Yes they initially reported Chiswick but it was Northolt. Greenford is just the other side of the canal.

"Police now believe Britain's most wanted man is in Chiswick wearing a black baseball cap, t-shirt and dark bottoms as their search moves to west London."

So he's changed clothes somehow at least if it is him.

I've read some people state he has Iranian heritage. Has this been confirmed anywhere as fact? Or is it purely because he's suspected of spying for Iran?
Based on his surname and complexion, I'd assume half-Iranian. But that's just my guess.

I can’t be the only one mildly amused by the fact the BBC are referring to his “alleged” escape
hahhaha I literally came on here to say the same after just watched bbc news the reporter even corrected himself when he didn’t say it 😂 they’ve obviously got to follow procedure because it’s now a court case so innocent until proven guilty but still funny, call a spade a spade
