If you didn’t see it on Sky, Naming the Dead, the series that showcases the work of the DNA Doe Project, is now on Disney+. The third episode in particular is a tear jerker. The series as a whole really shows how poorly young missing ethnic minorities are treated by law enforcement are. I’d highly recommend this series, it’s a cause very close to my heart.
Did anyone else watch Geordie Coppers on channel 4? One particular crime they followed was solved. I'm flabbergasted at the audacity.
The whole series, but particularly the last episode of Crime in Progress was incredible. My heart was in my mouth the whole time.

I was so afraid for the police officers trying to talk down the perp in the attic and convinced myself that one of them would fall or be attacked. I really hope they got recognition for the outstanding police work they did.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I was really surprised about how biased the two police officers were towards the robbery suspect. They kept going on about his looks and how he came across on social media. They seemed convinced that because he was good looking, well spoken and seemed well off that it couldn’t possibly have been him. Even when he admitted it was him, one of them was still making excuses and sympathising
I watched this last night and I see what you’re saying although I do also understand the police’s point of view. It was surprising as a first time offence.
If you think about it what could he really have got from those handbags other than maybe phones or bank cards which there was no evidence of him either having or using. He denied stealing the bracelet and even if he had would he have known how to get rid of it. Very few people carry significant amounts of cash with them which is what he really needed.
I think the surprise from the police was that someone who seemingly had his life together committed such a seemingly chaotic offence. His sentence was pretty long as well given the crappy sentences usually passed down and I think as a human being you can feel a sense of empathy for someone who has smashed up his life while still supporting the legal process behind it.
I've jumped forward to the latest series of Body Cam, will watch older ones later, 1st 3 episodes have been a hell of a wild ride, terrifying glimpse into the reality of being in the police & the potential risks. Cases are from 2023/22 at the moment.
