Can't remember if i have posted on this thread before but I love crafting! I will try anything and everything but since I taught myself to knit a few years ago that is my favourite thing to do.
I make a lot of cowls mostly fair isle or cable knit as I like a project that I can finish in a few days but have also made a couple of jumpers for my daughter (the Sunday Sweater by petite knits and the Harlequin sweater by the knit stitch - both very well written patterns) I have also just started the Abeline pullover by the Woolbird and I am doing this in a rusty and beige colour (only cast on earlier today so very early stages).
My favourite knitting vlogger is Kutovakika I absolutely love her style of knitting and I am hoping my husband has got me her new book for Christmas.
I will post some pictures tomorrow of some of the things I have made as I keep most of.my knitted items in a vacuum seal bag under my bed.
Having said all this about my love of knitting my favourite project I have EVER made was a rolife miniature kit called Emily's flower shop, it took me ages but honestly enjoyed it so much I have tried a couple of other kits since but never really got into them.

Wow! That is beautiful. I am a bit sleepy, so I was confused for a moment and thought it was full size. It must have taken so much work to get the detail right.

Aww thanks so much, I started it boxing day last year and finished it new years eve a few minutes before midnight (refused to go out lol). The kit is amazing you have to make all the furniture etc...
I got a bit over confident and decided to make a wooden floor out of lollypop sticks
.I'd love to do another but not found another kit I like anywhere near as much.

I love Fair Isle knitting and I'm really into knitwear at the moment (and good knitwear is so expensive) so I've asked my friend to buy me a place on a knitting course for Christmas. I am an experienced crocheter but they're like different languages and I always go back to crochet so hopefully that'll keep me engaged!
I only ever wanted to knit fair isle so was determined my first project would be fair isle which was challenging but actually if you can knit/purl you can do it easily you just have to follow the chart.
I only ever knit in the round on interchangeable needles as well, the idea of flat knitting with two traditional long needles is totally alien to me.
I love these kits! I have this one plus about 8 others. They are very fiddly, especially anything made of wire but I love the tiny details
I've never seen these kits before in my life and today I walked into a shop and there it was! If I didn't still have a million Christmas presents to buy I'd have treated myself!
I just finished a crochet blanket. It stayed as a way to use leftover yarn from the last project (the blanket on the left on the first photo) but of course I ended up buying more! Pattern by Jane Crowfoot and yarn from Stylecraft.
That is so beautiful. I’ve actually tried that one ( something lanterns? ) but I just couldn’t get the tension right at all. Whatever I did the pattern just seemed too holey, so I gave up.
However now I’ve seen yours it might just have given me the incentive I needed to have another go.

Mystical lanterns!
I feel like stuff with loads of granny-type pieces always look not the best when you start, I'm terrible for not even thinking about tension, I just keep going and hope that once I've joined and washed and blocked it, it'll be alright and they'll all look vaguely the same size!

xxI decided I'd gift handmade this Christmas so I've made quite a bit over the last few weeks. Today I made Christmas cards. I used to make cards a lot a few years ago but haven't really bothered until recently and I remember how much I enjoyed it. Anyway, these are a few I did today...

The colours are beautiful.
I would recommend getting one when you are able as they are so lovely to make, as someone above mentioned though the wire components are really fiddly! I scrapped those and made shelves and a table out of wooden chopsticks and thin plywood instead.
I wouldn't recommend the greenhouse one with the clear plastic cover it's a nightmare to get the cover right, I scrapped that project and to be honest not done another since! I am tempted to buy another flower shop kit though but convert it into a Greek taverna and make my own fancy little ceramic hand painted plates etc... maybe next year!!

I made a fake brick wall effect for the outside too by cutting up a thin piece of Cork into brick shapes and hand painting them.
Had to scrap my newest project (Abeline sweater by woolbird) 3 times as kept making silly mistakes (blaming my husband as he puts me off when I'm counting) but finally making progress!
Managed German short rows today which I have never tried before and finally on the yoke bit of the pattern with the colourwork!
My husband is out all day and night tomorrow and my daughter is away for the weekend also so I have a full day on it tomorrow with no interruptions which will be fantastic!
What is everyone's else working on? And is anyone expecting some crafty gifts from santa? I'm hoping for a knitting book (Kutovakika's new book).
Also what is everyone's favorite craft gadget? Mine is my neck lamp, I love it and makes crafting so much easier.
My biggest regret craft purchase is my circular knitting machine, used it twice but get no enjoyment out of it at all.

Busy working on my Abeline sweater, it's a lovely pattern! Wish I had put a strand of mohair in with my contrasting colour now but not starting again! It took me 3 attempts to get this far
