Why does my sewing machine choose to pack in halfway through something that is very important and needs to be finished today 😭

I have been working on the same blanket for weeks and it is not done. I am having a break to try making a crochet beanie hat. Thought it would be a nice change of pace.

Can anyone else relate? I have multiple stashes of yarn but can't get started on anything and have 3 WIPs lying around 🙄...thinking of starting a scrap blanket to get rid odds and ends.

This is me! I’ve had the same pair of socks on the go for about 2 months, I have another 2 pairs older than that. Last weekend I bought yarn to make a Lunan top, it’s still in the bag but that didn’t stop me ordering some yarn to make a cardigan at the weekend

Anyone else into papercrafting?

I do a lot of scrapbooking, memory keeping and journalling. My gripe this morning (related to @TheStrawberryThief s last post!) is that I bought some lovely rub on transfer stickers from AliExpress a while back, they're exactly my style (sometimes hard to find - I like 'realistic' stuff like watercolour florals and Tim Holtz but not as grungy, can't stand all this Kawaii aesthetic which is what seems to be 90% of the choice now) and I want to use them but also I don't because I don't want to 'waste' them even though I bought them for this exact purpose!

years ago the first time (LOL ) i wanted to start knitting I had the idea that anything other than basic at my age was too ambitious ( borne out by the fact I have several failed attempts at starting so i just thought the height of my ambition was scarves and sqaures to make into a blanket.. i started to collect different shades of blue. Ithink it must be a decade later and I still haven't learned how to even begin properly in knitting..

I hear you!
I’ve never got my head around the thought that there are people who don’t understand that buying craft supplies and using craft supplies for a project are two completely separate things.

I made a scrap blanket early this year, used lots of random colours and stitches. I thinknut is something that I might do every so often when I have lots of bits to use up.

You must always buy two, one to stroke and admire, and one to use!! Hence my massive stash of pretty paper...😂😂😂

I was hoping to have my hat finished today, but progress has been slow as I stupidly cut my finger when peeling an apple and it took ages to stop it bleeding.

My neighbour occasionally gives us some of her home grown fruit and veg, and I was so excited when she gave me some apples that I rushed inside to make an apple and blackberry crumble ( we have blackberries but no apples), and didn't pay attention to what I was doing.

Long story short, my finger is fine and the crumble was delicious. The hat can wait another day.

Sorry , didn't realise anyone wanted to see. This is hat 2. It is different colours as I was using up scrap chunky yarn and I didn't have enough red to get all the way around.

I have some more scrap chunky yarn left, so may try another one to get it used up.

My first hat didn't cinch together enough at top, so I had to sew the top closed and I ended up with 2 accidental ' pointy ears'. I think the yarn I used was a bit to stiff for it to want to cinch. Hat 2 was made from Stylecraft chunky.

I have set my phone to screen to go black and white after 10pm, so not sure what colour I have scribbled over my face. Will find out tomorrow.

Crochet made me cry today.
I recently purchased yarn and a pattern from the only craft supply store in my town. I really don't like the store. The owner has a horrible energy, and I sense thar she cant stand me, to be honest. I'm full of nerves going in but had no other option. Anyway, I just could not get the project ( a blanket) underway. Despite meticulous attention to the instructions, the pattern just would not work out for me - and I'm an experienced crocheter! It was frustrating and perplexing. I ended up abandoning it, and restarted it using my own idea - and its working out beautifully. So, im convinced the negative energy from the store-owner jinxed my first attempt, to be honest.
Just had to share. Thanks for 'listening'!

I agree. The owner has clearly cursed the pattern.

I know that a lot of people want to support their local craft store, but they don't deserve our support if they are being dickheads for no reason.

Maybe look and see if there are any online stores you can buy from? There are a lot of smaller independent online stores if you want to support a small business. Lots of larger online businesses as well if that is your preference.
