I'm glad it's not just me - I find myself more and more distracted watching it lately, almost to the point where if someone asked me what happened in an episode I wouldn't be able to tell them.
In ye olde days, when they did a big, awareness story, they did it well and it really did raise awareness. It was always in isolation and done well. Viewers were invested.
Now, they're crammed in with a couple of others and done poorly, it doesn't have the same impact.
We've currently got Debbie's early dementia, Betsey's sexual gratification stroke and now Kit's male breast cancer. Still bits of the domestic abuse fallout for Todd. I've probably missed some.
Do one thing well rather than several badly.

This is my biggest gripe with Corrie.
Debbie's storyline is a bit different because that is long term so that will run concurrent with everything else but they do cram in far too much.
That is why I was so pissed off when they brought in Tim's cousin and the dreadful Lucy. Absolutely no reason for that. Concentrate on Joanie who's of an age where she should be getting up to mischief.
Also, what has happened to disappearing Cassie? Have we forgotten about that now?
Has Carl had hair plugs too? His head is looking fuller than it was a couple of months ago
Differing to a lot of you, last night's was the first time in a while that I've actually watched without also playing Lemmings on my phone (which I've been doing for weeks, since the Corriedale aftermath died off). But I do agree with all of you that the scripts are trying to recapture what made old Corrie great, but the writers aren't good enough to make it look or sound natural.
And I know he's a sleaze but I love Fit Kit and I hope they don't kill him off. I like him telling Lisa where to get off, I feel like he's the only one that actually reacts to her like most real people would i.e. annoyed at her constantly poking around.

Oh I think you're onto something. She'll end up pregnant, Sarah will come out of prison and so Bethany have to pretend it was from her on/off date who now wants nothing to do with her, and Kit will have to pretend it's not his son/daughter. Corrie loves secret love children after all.
I also think Harper will turn out to be his and there will be further drama with the faulty BRCA gene. Shona will be even more unbearable.
I really like Kit's character. I think he's a really decent actor too. I wonder if we will ever meet his adoptive Dad.
Re awareness storylines it's great that soaps run these stories but they always screw them up i know they only have a short time frame but its never realistic Betsy seems to have come on leaps and bounds in a fortnight Toyah was having sex with nick the day she came home from a hysterectomy Carla had a kidney transplant and necks red wine like its going out of fashion
Im so glad they are running the male breast cancer story but it will be the same, kit will have surgery and chemo and out the other side in a couple of weeks when in reality it's a relentless round of tests and scans and appointments and weeks of waiting before you even get a surgery date if that doesn't get cancelled last minute then endless appointments and weeks of treatment after
