I really wish that women could disagree with each other in public forums without resorting to comments about each others’ appearance. It just cheapens their arguments (on both sides).

Clementine Ford is a performative blue tick feminist who is willing to throw women under the bus to stay popular & relevant. She can get in the bin.

Antonella's article is pretty bad - it's obvious she doesn't like Clementine so the review is going to be bad regardless. It unclear if she has even read the book. She holds very misogynistic views and is clearly transphobic AND she's written a book about "the feminine" 🤮 I don't love everything about Clementine but I think I like Antonella even less.

She just seems so childish too, the way she talks about why she accepted her partners proposal, and the way she tried to play everyone and say the article wasn't being published just to see the reaction. Like grow up - if you believe in what you've written and stand by it, why the need for all the extra publicity?

Antonella is AWFUL but where's the lie in this:

"Actually, I’m not sure you could get any whiter than Ford – a queer, bleached blonde agony aunt whose father ran for One Nation in Queensland"
I'm unsure what the relevance to her father has though. We aren't responsible for our parents choices and we often grow up having wildly different perspectives on life to our parents. The one nation bit is a cheap shot imo. Clem has also talked about her father and how she calls him out and that she disagrees with a lot of his ideals. The fact that she can't influence her own father/family is a perfect example of how patriarchy and racism can thrive in our world.

My aunty is wildly religious and her son (my cousin) had to use IVF and it caused all kinds of friction in their family. He is not responsible for her very misguided ideals about conception and science vs religion.

Clem was sued for defamation by Carl Soda I think - she was cleared of everything. Clementine is smart in how she does things, I think she is smart enough to work just within the law even if she employs some horrible tactics. I will be interested to see how this latest defamation case goes

Hey Clem, what’s your thoughts on Sudan?
🦗 🦗 🦗
…and Myanmar 🦗
---
She's using an image of a dead child to harangue others for not being the perfect radical intersectional feminist that she views herself to be. I get the need to bear witness and I will do so by going to Palestinian and other middle eastern sources I trust at a time that I choose. If she thinks she's making one iota of difference to those dying in their thousands, she's fucking dreaming.
👏🏼 YES. She lacks critical thinking and froths off the element of grandiosity she feels she has in her raging, hate-filled echo chamber.
---
I know Merowyn. She’s a legend.

Clem has lost the plot. She needs to put her phone down and take herself out of this.
Clementine Ford has never in the history of forever backed down, taken responsibility or acknowledged her accountability of perpetuating harm in ANYTHING.

She, along with her deranged and unhinged followers, is a horrid example of social fucking contagion.

…can she please just log off, take a breath and shut the fuck up for a few minutes / eternity.
---
She’s lost the plot. I know a few people who were ‘besties’ and loved her and have unsubscribed. She’s just increasingly unpleasant and deranged. Today it was claiming Patricia Karvelas was bought by Israel. Wild.
I used to be a fan. Unfollowed years ago. I’m a staunch feminist and believe there are far more powerful, insightful, intelligent and interesting feminists in the field whose content I’d rather absorb. My friends have finally unfollowed her now too. May this trend continue!

I cannot believe how much I used to respect Clem and admire her work. She’s really fallen off, she’s an embarrassment. Inviting your loyal followers to hear you speak knowing they’re going to be filmed to be made fun of on some douchebags tv show is so fucked. The inspired unemployed are not even remotely funny, they’re homophobic, misogynistic losers. They got lucky with a couple of dance videos going viral but for every 1 video that was slightly amusing there were 20 that were cringey flops.
Plus these guys routinely put towels on their heads and balloons down their tops to play women constantly. I can have a laugh but when it was video after video of the dumb girlfriend, the mean girlfriend, the nagging girlfriend it gets a bit much. Also their audience is other douchebag guys. They will most probably fast forward or cut out any of the feminist discussion.

Sorry to go on about it! I was a follower of Clem also and I’ve done a full 180. Eyes have been opened.

I think she's actually loathsome at this point.

I followed and supported her for over a decade. I own all her books- even the trash marriage one that she didn't bother to promote properly- and I feel really sad about the whole thing.

-the Taylor tribute shows while saying how much she hates Taylor and mocking people who are fans.
- The prank at the expense of her own audience and refusal to acknowledge or apologise for it.
- Exposing people to dead babies and yelling at them for being upset regardless of any triggers or PTSD that people might have.
-Turning on her own audience, who she has sold a rhetoric to and telling them how horrible and privileged they are for following HER rhetoric.
-Weird vendetta against Mia Freedman for no reason.
- Clearly HATES other women tbh- vendetta against Rosie Waterland, Jessie Stephens, any other woman who she decides to bully and pile on.
- The hypocrisy of all her botox and performative femininity.

Clem you are one of the biggest disappointments imaginable.
All of this. Especially about the dead babies and children. I didn’t like being told I’m supposed to be ok with that as there are others suffering. The people in her comments are especially insane about this a few brave souls suggested a trigger warning and got dog pilled on.

She hates any woman more successful than her especially in her own field. Detests “white feminists” when she is one. All this hate on Taylor Swift but she’s using her songs to make money for herself??

Why not hate on the men who get these countries into war, who kill who murder who rape other men and women and children, who control the politics, business, industry, land??

Make it make sense

I am 100% here for the memes coming out of this Jonah Hill shitheap. The man doesn't know what boundaries actually are and I am all for the takedown of therapy speak. But I'm not enjoying the infantilising of Sarah Brady in all this - yes she was 26 or whatever, but Clem is making it sound like she was 13 and big bad Jonah groomed her.

Sounds like a hard launch but Clem is too cool for a regular relationship like us normies and it wouldn’t sit well with her new book coming out 🫠

Let me just start by saying the whole “leave your husband” rhetoric is a bit rich from someone who’s never had a successful relationship

I’m disappointed in Clementine. I really love her, love all her books and the content she produces and was a “bestie” but I’m disappointed she never called out Deni’s predatory behaviour. She has a platform, there’s a way she could do it but she chose to remain silent. Disappointing.
I think some of the marriage stuff has really been punching down too. She absolutely could have amplified the voices of queer people like Pablo on the Deni saga if she didn’t feel comfortable having her own take (she’s always got an opinion though, so I don’t believe that). Hiding behind mental health to justify really shitty and violent behaviour is not okay. Violent behaviour towards their much younger partner. Then turning court appearances into a fashion shoot TWICE with zero remorse for their crimes or empathy for the victims.

I said it at the time, but she went on and on about Jonah Hill when that content had been done to death and she had no unique perspective to add. Meanwhile, Deni is out there getting away with all sorts of things completely unchecked. She follows him. She’s local to him. It fits with her usual content.

That Clammy page has made one good point. Clem and Lauren don’t want peace, they want attention. If there was peace what would they do all day? They wouldn’t be able to be rant into their phones and fight with strangers and feel like they are part of a struggle that doesn’t effect them. While they’re receiving mean dms they can pretend to be oppressed and not like two extremely privileged white women living in a safe country. Sorry Lauren’s not “white” she started claiming her indigenous heritage post the 2020 BLM movement after she was accused of being racist agains Moaris.
This is a really foul post and deserves to be challenged. Questioning someone’s racial background is something racists do.
I don’t like how Clem has behaved recently but largely she’s correct when it comes to her politics, she’s abrasive and inappropriate and has way over fixated on this issue, but she’s also not wrong.

if it comes down to team clem vs team Antonella and clammy lady I’m with Clem not the nutcase right wingers.

The issues with marriage that Clem claims are problematic are present in de facto relationships too. If people want to celebrate their union by having a party and have it ‘recognised’ by the state then why begrudge it? The issues she talks about are to do with relationships between a man and woman regardless of whether they are married.

Sorry guys, I tend to disagree. Of all the things to criticize Clem on, this one isn’t it. Genocide is taking place in Gaza with over 11,000 civilians killed in 4 weeks. Half of which are children. They’re starving, thirsty, fleeing constant bombardment, have no access to medicine or medical care with every major hospital being targeted by Israel. Their homes, schools, refugee camps, churches and mosques have all been bombed. POC are TIRED. Arabs are tired. Yes they’re speaking up too, but sometimes it’s nice to see others outside of the community stand up and amplify Palestinian voices, especially those with a large platform. What is taking place is undoubtebly a genocide. Your questions should be - why aren’t more people screaming about Gaza on their platforms? Why aren’t more people “hyper fixated” on the horrors Israel is inflicting on the Palestinian people?

Ruby not holding back
Go off sis 👏👏 Surely Clem has lost any credibility she has had at this point?? The contradictions are mind blowing but as long as she's making money right? So quick to be an aggressive bully to anyone that disagrees with her but then decides when it's okay to be a privileged white person.

She’s using the horrors of Palestine to boost her profile. That’s it.
Or she’s just desperate to be included in any group of marginalised voices and held up by them as an ally. She’s the ultimate pick me girl for the disenfranchised with an added twist of white saviour complex.

I just caught up on this thread and watched the video linked above from Definitely Maybelline on Insta and Amy had liked her post!

I’m so, so disappointed that any of these three women would take part in something so gross, unfunny and immature. I absolutely love Yumi’s podcast and she comes across as such an empathetic and honest host. I have had some really nice chats with Clementine in the past and have read and loved all of her books and given them as gifts to others (though I haven’t really engaged with her content in quite some time- politically I think we are mostly aligned but it’s gotten a bit extreme for me). Antoinette I only became aware of this year but she seems like a credible and ethical journalist. My mind just boggles that any of them would do this. The commenter above that questioned Jack’s views on Palestine raises an absolutely excellent point. I don’t think those guys give a single fuck what is happening in the world- why would you work with them Clem? What does Paramount Plus think about Palestine Clem?

Why do these middle aged white women half a world away from these atrocities think either of them has the upper hand on this argument?

If they want to troll each other, why bother creating a fake insta? Why not be a normal person and just open a Tattle account?

Girl, hit me up if you’re in need of a code!!

Her points about the history of marriage are solid and stand up - it's the total lack of context around modern marriage that makes me eye-roll. Unhealthy relationships are bad, yes
Her book and theory are about the institution of marriage, and yes overall, even now today, men benefit from marriage more than women do and women overwhelming take on the bulk of the domestic and mental load. Yes there are exceptions but they are exceptions.

I agree with all of that wholeheartedly - in general marriage is bad for women. But I don't get why she needs to pick on specific weddings or marriages. Plenty of people agree with her takes on defacto relationships and marriage. She has shared heaps of content that I have learnt from on the subject without going after individuals.

Picking on individuals is petty and the point she is trying to make gets lost along the way.

I don’t think this will affect the inspired boys at all. They don’t make their income from being feminist authors etc. the three girls were the ones who got their loyal fans in the situation. They totally knew what would happen, otherwise clem for sure would have been angry ranting by now.
