Being married to a Ghanaian building houses there is a fraction of the cost of building one here ….My hubby built one as soon as he started making money here in the UK but primarily it wasn’t for us especially although it does has a separate annex for us if we go to visit his family … he built it so his parents and siblings could move out of the slums they were living in and have a better life … Ghanians are very family orientated and you can bet without doubt if they did have a house built there Family would very much be living in it…. And it would be very basic … the first time I went it was a totally culture shock … especially the fact that because of Dumsor you never knew when the electricity would be on or off lol…Why not go to Ghana this year then? And see this beautiful house that they have built? Or did she forget that she said that lie too?
You can get a week all in for £6k
Really £1k each that's cheapYou can get a week all in for £6k
She tells that many lies I’ll believe it when they are actually on the plane heading to Jamaica but these days you can fake anything even that it’ll probably be a photoshopped SkegnessYea I find it odd that they don't travel there every few years to see family. I thought they chose Spain to see how the younger ones were on a flight before the longer flight next year.
Ghana is about 6-7 hr flight and Jamaica is 9.5-10.5 hrs
Penzance and Hayle are both relatively flat and nice areas to stay. I would investigate on Tripadvisor for Air B&B there are loads of lovely ones all over Cornwall. Please delete if not allowed
Hey Twollies
So i really wanna come to Cornwall in September with hubby and pooch.
Live in West Yorkshire so its far away! So i need to get it right if i decide
I am going to be 40 and ive done sooo many abroad holidays and cruises over the years but they are too hard for me now so thought why not Cornwall as always wanted to go. September maybe quieter too as outside school hols.
I struggle with mobility. I dont need a wheelchair but i cant walk for long periods of time. I know Cornwall can be hilly so that is something i need to avoid.
What will be the best area for us to stay? Im thinking Air B&B we dont want hotel as i need to take medical supplies and need a house/cottage type just for us.
I want to experience things i can manage in cornwall and we dont mind driving to places if they arnt near to the area we will stay in.
I have googled but honestly im lost with it, it has so many answers about places that are flatish but i dont know one from the other. Past london im unfamiliar with.
Nothing better than asking those who already live there but i appreciate this might not be allowed on here as its not Claire related haha.
I want beach and nice restaurants. Towns to visit with independent shops etc.
If anyone can suggest any places in Cornwall ideal for me then i can look into them x
I'll always have a place for TWT maloofsLooking back now, I really miss all the original ones. Tan/Patrick/Helen/Jane Gammons. They were more likeable than this insufferable one !
There were cheaper in different parts of the island, can't remember if they were all inc. I just looked for Montego Bay because they were watching a youtube about thereReally £1k each that's cheap
Thanks Wendy thats fab! Penzance did come up as an area on my google searches but not heard of Hayle so will definately look that upPenzance and Hayle are both relatively flat and nice areas to stay. I would investigate on Tripadvisor for Air B&B there are loads of lovely ones all over Cornwall.
I hear you on the mobility side of things I’ve developed PMR this year so understand your struggle.
Places to visit:
St Ives but very hilly
Polperro is so beautiful that’s a must!
Looe is very touristy but maybe okay in September.
Padstow bit hilly though.
Fowey
Truro is a lovely place especially for shopping and have a lot of independent shops too.
Charlestown a couple of miles away from St Austell is really lovely! Have some lovely restaurants around there I can’t remember all the names but I’m sure if you google them the best ones will appear!
Definitely go in September! It’s always crazy in the school holidays!
Happy 40th birthday to you for this year
P.s You’ll actually be able to buy stuff from the bakeries because the residentwon’t be here

I also love Port Isaac … but again it’s quite hilly last time I was there we sat in a little pub near the quay and listened to The Fishermen Friends … it was a fantastic evening the locals were so friendly …Penzance and Hayle are both relatively flat and nice areas to stay. Try holidaycottagespolperro on Facebook or online. We’ve stayed there lots of times in different cottages and can’t fault any of them. We’ve been all over Cornwall, but we’re always drawn back to Polperro. We’re also going in September and can’t wait. Please delete if not allowed

Other areas you mention are on the list to visit but wouldnt stay there as main base.
Penzance is nearly 7hrs drive from me its the only thing putting me off. But if i think that way then id never go!
I will definately be trying a proper cornish pasty as ive never had one! Not worried about calories as i need to put weight on![]()

Is Polperro a good base or is it hilly and difficult with mobility issues? XPolperro is one of my favourite places even though I live in Cornwall I’m actually going to investigate these cottage’s as also not going abroad this year. Thank you for the recommendation!
