Ive got myself a new pre-lit tree I cant be bothered doing all the lights so thought f**** it and treated myself.

Lush. I want one but I love the tacky old school petal lights too much

Love this thread I'm one of these that mention xmas in july I dont care I'm like Monica from friends i let the kids do one side i do the proper side I start November the end of actually have a garden this year I'm going all out with the outdoor stuff aswell

I bought my first house last year and so it was my first independent Christmas. Mum has a small fat tree which is always multicoloured and I just love! I inherited My dads taller skinnier tree when he passed away a couple of years ago (so there’s huge sentimental value for me there) and I went all out to make a woodland/animal theme, with a gold glittery stag head as a topper and switched up tinsel for a feather boa. I’m not gonna change my tree this year I don’t think, possibly pick up one or two different decs in the shops if I see them but overall it’ll stay as is.
I also have a beautiful home made wreath for my living room door that my aunt made me of purple/pink colours with white lights.
To finish off I have a small 3ft tree for outside the front door which has multicoloured baubles and multicoloured lights on it too, with a unicorn as the topper

I'll be honest I sometimes think boas on trees can look tacky but yours looks lovely.

At Christmas, the tackier the better is my view too. I like my christmas three to look like someone’s tripped and thrown a box of baubles at it I fill it full of tat from holidays, the uglier the better I do have warm white lights though. I have some colours fairy lights that go in my bedroom window and they are my favourite - proper ones, not those shitty red orange green and blue LED monstrosities. Blue flashing icicle lights are my Christmas nemesis though - absolutely hate them

I am hosting Christmas dinner for the first time this year, so I want to decorate my dining kitchen.. I think I might go for more scandi vibes in there, so I’m browsing Instagram and Pinterest at the minute. I might get a small real tree and try to keep it alive this year

That all sounds fab. I am tempted to go for a non coloured light in my living room by getting a pre out tree and then having my other tree in our bedroom. But then I'd have 4 trees as the kids have a tiny fibre optic in their room. I love my coloured lights too they're the proper old school ones with the plastic petal around them. I have so many baubles and love them all.

We always used to have real Christmas trees when we we children. Since then, I have alternated between real and fake ones. In December 2018, my partner bought a rather splendid fake tree, but at the same time I mangaged to find a lovely real tree for £5 - it was on special offer. But it was so sad to see a perfectly healthy tree, put outside to be recycled.
In recent years, I have hunted around charity shops for Christmas decorations. Not because Of financial reasons, I just enjoy mooching around charity shops - always have done.

I've been influenced... I'm so sorry! I have themes... The living room tree is traditional red and gold with wooden decorations. The kitchen tree is orange, gold and wood. The play room tree is pink and blue. I just like it to look nice.
I do want to think about wrapping paper this year, a lot of it isn't recyclable and brown paper packages tied up with string is one of my favourite things

My tree is done in gold with a touch of cream with no tinsel or lights -gold beads on the tree and lights strung on the mantlepiece instead.
I've also got a gold Santa with big boots on .
Maybe not to everyone's taste but that's the great thing - it's all beautiful if it's in the Christmas spirit.

We got a lovely tree from Wilko last year, its called an upswept one and it looks more like a real tree without the pine needles. I tend to buy a few ornaments each year relating to things that we have seen or done in the year or milestones so our tree is totally mismatched but I love it. We have one string of warm white bulbs and 1 string of pastelly colour bulbs so it looks colourful but soft - hate hate hate that electric blue LED colour that seems to crop up everywhere.

This is so beautiful, I absolutely love it.
Really glad to have seen this thread, unfortunately we are going to be away for most of December so have decided it’s not worth getting a tree for one week so will be glad to live vicariously through all of your tree photos!

My Christmas tree is the one from my family home (can't bring myself to get a bushier tree even though I want one as my mum was the ultimate Xmas tacky master haha). I don't do the ceiling decs like she used to do mind.... they have a strange smell haha

My tree is mainly red/gold with warm white lights. I also have a random range from The Range to Swarovski (Memory bauble for My mum) and then a fancy fortnum one haha. Got new window lights in the sale last year so I'm very excited. Even my cat gets his own stocking

I've done gold and silver for a couple of years with warm white lights. I used to have either gold or silver with purple before we redecorated. I think we are starting to go multicolored with different baubles now as we have accumulated quite a collection.

I bought a beautiful tree last year from Asda. The reviews were good but honestly I can’t believe how beautiful it actually is.
Decorations wise we don’t really stick to a colour. We get a bauble every time we go on holiday so those ones are always different and then we just have a bit of everything decoration wise. No tinsel though. But warm lights. We don’t have a star or angel on top. We don’t have a plan of how to place them either. We just through them on and hope for the best whilst enjoying a bottle of wine and a Christmas playlist. There’s always an argument mixed in somewhere about the lights as well.

My tree is always white, silver and pearl.

My lounge is mustard yellow so struggle with the traditional Christmas colours. They all clash!

This year however I have ordered some white and yellow marble effect baubles to add a bit of colour

My hallway is neutral coloured though so i have the reds and greens out there

I love Christmas and decorating the trees

We have a large flocked tree in lounge with loads of warm white lights (Christmas tradition for either my husband or myself to call the lights names as it’s an absolute ball ache to get them on the tree!) Pre lit is the way forward Decorated with white, silver and pearl baubles.

I used to have a Scandinavian theme but wanted to change it up.

Kitchen/Dinning room tree is a 6ft green tree one with coloured lights and loads of decorations I inherited when my grandparents died.

My family love this tree as they remember these decorations from when my mum was little and when we were little. Absolute 80’s dream! Every year I now get to buy an extra fun bauble which to be honest is way more fun than buying another white one

I do LOVE my fancy tree in the lounge but the kitchen tree feels like Christmas it’s lovely on Christmas Day when we are all sat at the table. Reminds me of simpler times and when the tins of quality street were actually tins full of sweets

Paperchase do gorgeous decorations but they are so expensive

I noticed some nice ones in Asda last year.

Really looking forward to going all out this year. Last year it felt sad because we actually went away to visit family in the US on Boxing Day and stayed over at the airport on Christmas Day so it was sad leaving the Christmassy house to go and stay in a boring hotel room then having to take the decorations down pretty much straight away when we got back in January so we didn’t look like THAT house which leaves them up way too long
