I have a roast dinner on New Year's Day as well 🥰 Draining the last of my mulled wine and the cranberries today. Watching Saving Mr Banks. Determined to wring every last moment out of it 😅 Will probably take the decorations down tomorrow but leave the fairylights up until the long winter nights lift.

Edit: damn, was just typing this as Spanor posted the new thread.

I’ve decided I can drink mulled wine all year round! Cozy weekend treat.

I asked Mr Owl about decorations and tree down thinking he’d want it done tomorrow and he said Sunday ❤ so we’ll stretch it out a few more festive days. I’d wait til January 6 but there’s no way I’ll manage with work.

Has anyone seen any films or tv this holiday that they highly recommend to other Tattlers?

Things that surprised me by being amazing:

Wonka (really enjoyable for adults as well as children)

Finding Father Christmas on Channel 4 (sorry to be late with this rec, see if you can remember it for the next 51 weeks 😂)

The Slipper and The Rose (Cinderella told in an old Hollywood way, really glamorous and engaging for adults).
The new Spongebob movie was tit

Watched the housemaid because it was my friends turn to pick the film and it was really good haven't read the book but really enjoyed it

Got all the decorations down today :(

However I did do an inventory of everything we have and have already started a notebook on my phone for Christmas 2026 and the stuff I need to replace :sneaky: Still have a tray of mince pies left and some cheese though so that’s something…

I bloody hate January though. I need tips to perk myself up!

Had another lovely roast dinner at my mums today. Helped her cook it and was soooo nice. Doing another roast for myself and my partner tomorrow 😂
Tree and decs will go down over the weekend. Had quite a busy boxing day and week since Christmas visiting family, celebrating my dad's birthday etc so I'm treating tomorrow as my New Years Boxing Day. Cosy day not leaving the house, all the twinkly cosy lights on, roast dinner and building some of my lego 😂🙂🎄
Christmas has gone by SO fast, I feel like December went by in the blink of an eye, so I'm squeezing as much out of these last few festive days as possible 🙂
