In fairness, she's obviously not talking about herself when she says affiliate sales feed their families.

Does she use a filter on her phone when she’s talking because she looks a lot different on telly? The sucking up she does to Charlotte tilbury reminds me of Pippa and Ellen

That's a very strange one about the comments on fbgs post isn't it? I've not seen sue go for someone like that before bit heavy handed and unwarranted, I'm very surprised

It’s not our job to feed influencer’s families. Myself and my partner work full time to feed ours. If IG isn’t providing enough for them maybe it’s time to get a real job, preferably one she is better at when it comes to FBG.

Seems to me like there is misinterpretation of what she's saying. There was a tweet yesterday where someone was blasting bloggers for including their affiliate links instead of "supporting local business". She's not saying it's your personal responsibility to feed their families, she's saying why wouldn't they push their links and why wouldn't someone use them for things they're going to buy anyway. It's not their responsibility to entertain you for free either, to be frank. Seriously the unnecessary rage over this is just silly.

Also- content creation is a job. Just because it's not a traditional job, doesn't mean it isn't. Is being a musician not a real job? Or an author? Or journalist? It's all the same. Move with the times.

Well that’s just as well then cos there’s f all entertaining content out of most of the vast majority of them, it’s all ads and flogging crap from what I can see. Is that entertainment? I thought it was advertising.
If it was a real job they’d be able to feed their families on their wage they’d earned. Traditional advertising agencies manage to pay their staff or they let them go. Maybe those who have been decimated to the point of not being able to feed their families need to find a new job.
The only rage I detect here is yours, enough to suspect you have skin in the game.

the filter on her phone is VERY heavy
It’s like a dream sequence from a USA daytime soap in the 80’s... dream sequence anyone?!

But if its not entertaining and you don't enjoy their content, then you wouldn't be swiping up anyway so kinda irrelevant no? But if you are watching their stories and they have gone to the bother of providing a link to something you actually want, then what harm for them to make a few euro on something that you bought because of them and it doesn't cost you anything extra? (Not so much FBG as most of her swipe ups are of no interest to me but other bloggers/influencers...)

I swipe up on links if the item interests me and I enjoy the Instagramer’s content. I don’t swipe up cos Cherry Sue told me I should. I don’t swipe up cos I feel I need to keep these people in a job. Most of the times I have swiped up it’s been on a link from a person who isn’t flogging everything known to man, but someone who has a normal job and does Instagram mainly as a hobby type thing. Someone I’d trust when they give their opinion. One can still have an opinion on Cherry Sue’s post without swiping up on every af link on the internet.

I don't have skin in the game but I'm close enough to it in my own profession that I understand it. I also don't like when people twist what people say. Sue isn't saying anyone is obliged to buy anything just to keep people in pocket, that's such a leap to suit the "entitled" influencer idea. Like teaspilling says, if you don't find their content entertaining, you wouldn't be swiping so what's the big deal about Sue's point? If you don't find their content entertaining and it winds you up, don't give it a seconds thought. In the greater scheme, it doesn't matter how you earn your money or how they earn their money, especially if you're not interested in their content?

Your blue Peter badge for having a "proper" job and a husband should be in the post by the way 🙂

Sorry my comments wind you up so much. I never said I had a “proper” job, I said I had a job that fed my family. I also never said I had a husband, you need to check yourself on your assumptions.

the chip on your shoulder about me apparently saying I have a proper job suggests that maybe you feel that you don’t. That’s your issue, not mine.

Grace is a bully. She bullied Rosemary MacCabe. I remember Sue posting things before about wolves in sheeps clothing in the industry and how people fawn over a specific bully and it makes her sad to see it but that's just what she's done here. Disappointing really.
Pretty sure she was talking about Lovely Girly Bits there, notice how they used to be friends back in the early blogger days but they no longer follow each other. CherrySue had a post before about a blogger friend who started to get jealous of Sue being invited to stuff she wasn't and this person started spreading rumors about her but she gave them the benefit of the doubt at the time because they had lost their father but the person turned out to be so nasty even though online they seemed so sweet ,it all adds up that it's Lovely Girly Bits. I don't know much about FBG.

Me either!
I thought Lovely Girlie bits was just a fairly cringe older blogger

I cannot watch her , the fleece, the moaning of cold/tired, the repeating the burnt orange eyeshadow and the limp hair but most of all the weird voices and faces she pulls

Grow up for gods sake you are 45

But I thought she was harmless and squeaky clean! This is ☕ Indeed

Shocked at this as well, I’m not a big fan of either but thought lovelygirlybits was exactly as you describe.
