I'm so glad its Friday, and even better I've booked Monday off for a slightly longer weekend! Usually Fridays in work are not good - I'm in IT and we used to do a lot of production releases on Fridays but we got it out yesterday so a pretty chill day!

Also bought one of those robot vacuum cleaners in the black friday sales so I'm excited for that haha.

When I used to work for an IT company, monthend was always the busiest time, not only for Finance departments, but also for IT departments making sure all the company's applications were up and working at midnight on the final day of the month, especially for the accounting journals, sales, purchasing etc.

I would quite often be on "Out of Hours" call out at double or triple overtime if something went tits up at that time

I haven't even thought about Black Friday, although I might keep an eye out for a replacement FitBit

I love Fridays, even though I do have quite a bit of work on today, most if working from home.

Have been out for a run, had some brekkie, am reading the online news, will no doubt spend faaarrrrrr to much time on here again. And then potter about trying to keep the house tidy .... again!

A friend of mine has a Border Terrier from a pup of about 8 weeks. And for about 5 or 6 months it would yap, bite, nip at his feet constantly.

But it was just going through a typical "teething" phase, and what my friend found once his pup had his last set of inoculations, was to take him outside for a walk (on a lead of course). After a couple of days of this the pup soon stopped the nipping

5-6 months we have a long way to go

After much deliberation have finally decided to fly out to South Africa this month after all.

Contacted the SA Embassy earlier today, and I will be allowed to enter Johannesburg on the proviso of a PCR certificate. So have booked a PCR test and also a flight out.

I was hoping to spend Christmas and New Year here in the UK, but try as I might I really can't, and need a fresh start elsewhere. I just want to be back home with my family rather than cooped up here in the middle of winter.

If all goes well over there, I will be putting my home up for sale, give up my job and move to J'Burg permanently in the Spring.

Got to be optimistic I guess

Me too. He seems sensible and aware of the wider impact of lockdowns. At the same time he seems to acknowledge that Covid is serious.
I went to Morrison’s and bought their award winning champagne in the Black Friday sale. Only £12 & beat Moet in the taste test. I’m after a vacuum too but Can’t find the one I want in the sale.

Wow that’s a great price,I must be odd as I don’t like champagne, we have 2 bottles that have never been opened in about 4 yrs!!

Sometimes clients really do my head in!

You book an appointed time well in advance so that I can PC Anywhere, to their machine in order to solve an issue. But rather than sitting at their desk to go through what their problem is, they bugger off to either look after their kids, the dogs/cats... or in this case to start lunch!

If they were going to be busy why book an appointment for this time of day!?

Anyway, fixed their problem and all is good. But what should have taken 20 minutes took 50, and all because I had to wait and wait for her to get back to her desk and help out with a couple of mouse clicks

I too should do something with my garden, but I can't be arsed either

Do you feel that people are putting a lot of pressure on themslves this year to make xmas a good one? I know a few people who are panicking about presents and whether they are doing enough.

I'm feeling miserable tonight guys. I hope 2021 is better. It's been the best year having my boy but the worst at the same time. It's been hard. Feeling very sorry for myself tonight Glad I've got Tattle though


It's weird how the same usernames you see all time on these threads, especially the off topic ones, seem like better friends than you actually have in real life. (Or maybe that's just me ha? I've got shit friends )

How old is your little boy now? I think it's been very had for anyone that had a baby this year. My friends had a little boy in May, he's just gone 6 months now. She had great plans to go to all the Mum & baby groups and take him out and about everywhere but obviously that couldn't happen.

She’s already had about £800 worth of stuff from their mum in the last couple of months.

shes 40.

She's a nightmare. She's kicked off before on Xmas day because her little nieces and nephews were 'getting too much attention'

She behaves like a spoilt child, and when she has a few drinks in her she can turn nasty.
