Her Asia trip made me sad. She just talked about Tokyo was shopping heaven and featured consignment shops. I never saw her mention anything about the amazing food from Seoul, Hong Kong, or Tokyo. And her trip to Disney World, she even shopped online to send to her hotel room.I'm not here to criticize how other people spend their money and time but...considering that London is an exciting city with a lot of places and ways you can spend time and money, while Amie was there, all she did was shop it seems. Considering UK is a short plane ride to other European destinations as well, Amie lived a vapid life.
There is soooo much to do in those cities. I would have gone and visited the local designers and boutiques and try to buy something from there, there are so many cute cafes in Seoul and Tokyo, and Hong Kong has probably one of the most stunning harbours in the world. I found it baffling that there isn't any shots on the places she had visited except the luxury boutiques. What is the point of going to Fendi in Seoul? Like seriously. Her Asia trip made me sad. That is basically harassment, I hope she is banned. Hermes is a global luxury label and people wait years to get an Hermes or Kelly, so they do not care. Besides that, SA is a human being and is it too hard to treat someone with consideration and decency?Bombarding an SA with a long email every week and demanding updates is a put off. I would have just deleted the email. Hermes doesn’t owe her anything just because she spent tonnes, she needs to take a look at her own behaviour first. It’s clear she needed Hermes a lot more than they her so no loss to them but a great loss to her. I hope she’s blacklisted the world over as her behaviour is simply embarrassing. I only started looking at her IG page recently and I don’t believe her stuff is real. Sorry, she’s just too tacky.
yep definitely- when they do go out its usually chain restaurants (eg Nandos) and burger/bbq places. given she actually vlogs these “dates” i’d say thats as exciting as they get. exactly where do the Chanel bags fit in?I suspect her funds have been spent on shopping and bigging up her IG/YT profile to generate more income so I don’t think there’s anything left to fund a social life. We know she has no friends but she could still enjoy nice meals or holidays with Dan but no, they hardly happen.
I'm thinking a 2 week holiday (after the pandemic blows over and everyone is vaccinated) in Club Med or something (maybe a 2 week cruise) is exactly what Amie needs. She needs to do something fun without shopping. Her obsession with Chanel bags and shopping is unhealthy. All Amie does is shop. I don’t think she’d cope with a two week holiday in the Seychelles or Maldives where not only are there no high end shops but I doubt if stores would even ship there unless you request super high priority. I like shopping but even I can’t muster doing it every hour of every day. No wonder brands aren’t interested in her. Her styling (if you can call it that) is very limited and so is her reach. Other IGers have been getting freebies from beauty houses, ITF even got a Hakkasan box at the weekend full of yummy dim sum ..... and all Amie can whip up is the same old fashion from before. Not only that, she had to pay for the stuff herself barring some discounts from my Theresa. I’m willing to bet she returned almost everything.
Amie says she's really busy with her company so that's why she and Dan don't have time to take holidays. OK fine...but everyone, even those who work hard, need downtime. It's not that hard to go to one high end restaurant once a week if you had the money (I live in a smaller city where there are no high end restaurants and I envy those living in A-list cities like London where there are). Or take weekend getaways to nearby places.yep definitely- when they do go out its usually chain restaurants (eg Nandos) and burger/bbq places. given she actually vlogs these “dates” i’d say thats as exciting as they get. exactly where do the Chanel bags fit in?
as mentioned before her “holidays” are all basically shopping trips![]()
I don’t buy her excuses for exactly the same reasons you mention. It’s not difficult to book a nice fancy meal for some time out, also - weekend getaways to Paris, Brussels are a breeze via the Eurostar so plenty of opportunities. For someone who doesn’t have time to go on holiday, she sure finds time to shop big time when on holiday when she can do it online at home anyway! Fair enough if you want to visit small boutiques that are not online but all she does is visit Chanel etc which is in every bloody city and at home in London! Why bother travelling when you gravitate towards the same stuff that you’d get at home anyway??! The honest truth is she’s terribly skint when it’s not handbags or fashion related. Given the amount of spending she’s done this year on irrelevant handbags, I’d be surprised if she isn’t working 3X as hard on her day job to come up with more money for the next luxury haul on IG! She’s another purse on fleek - buys to show off and then sells in bulk to fund the next fancy purchases.Amie says she's really busy with her company so that's why she and Dan don't have time to take holidays. Not to mention the museums in London.
(pre-pandemic) she DID have downtime and she used it to go SHOPPING! i don’t believe any of the trips she took were for work- i used to travel alot for work and there was no way i had that much time to shop! day was for doing whatever warranted the trip in the first place and evenings were either dinner with local colleagues or catching up on emails/preparing for the following day. the only shopping opportunity would be at the airport (though tbh i’d rather sit at the lounge and have a drink!)Amie says she's really busy with her company so that's why she and Dan don't have time to take holidays. Amie isn’t cultured at all, I don’t believe she has an inkling of what goes on in the world aside from shopping. Then again - I don’t think she knows much about the world of fashion either e.g. I don’t think she can’t tell you where Karl Lagerfeld’s inspiration came from despite having Chanel coffee table books dotted around the house - the saying all the gear but no idea springs to mind.I just watched her Korea trip and I actually felt sad for her this time, she literally have no knowledge of her cultural background and find it all super "surprising" that I have no idea whether she is playing it up for the camera. She seems really confused about Korean BBQ, which is one of the most ubiquitous form of Korean food outside of Korea, surely there are Korean restaurants in London? She ate at the hotel buffet twice considering she seems to be there for only like a few days, which is super sad considering hotel buffets are the same everywhere.
Don’t forget the Cheesecake Factory. She buys so many clothing items that are “pah-fect for date night”,but none of those chain places warrant another floral dress or polka dot skirt with heels. Her channel and social media accounts just seem so unsustainable. I wonder if she’s truly happy with shopping on the brain 24/7 and working strictly to fund this habit. To me, that’s exhausting and unfulfilling.Amie isn’t cultured at all, I don’t believe she has an inkling of what goes on in the world aside from shopping. London has heaps of Korean restaurants, where I live in Surrey is close to the largest Korean community in the U.K. and it’s got fab Korean eateries and supermarkets. Amie’s more keen to portray a life of luxe ie taking a picture in a hotel restaurant with champagne glasses seems to be the priority as opposed to sampling foods from some of the most authentic restaurants. I mean this is someone who eats at Mr Chow when she travels to the US, and everyone knows they serve laughable Chinese food (their food is soooooooo bad) but in a posh environment and charge stupid prices.
this bothered me as well. considering how close she is to her mum (who is Korean) i was surprised how she carried on like a complete noob about how “foreign” Korean food was. Korean food is very well known in cities like London, Los Angeles, New York etc. i’m from Sydney and there’s heaps of Korean food/fusion Korean. i found her poor acting offensive (i am not Korean) because it came across as if supressing her Asian heritage was part of her narrative of “affluent influencer”. she’s as uncultured as she is bland.I just watched her Korea trip and I actually felt sad for her this time, she literally have no knowledge of her cultural background and find it all super "surprising" that I have no idea whether she is playing it up for the camera.
Every major city in the UK and its English speaking (aka former British colonies) countries - Australia, Canada and USA have a lot of ethnic Asian restaurants and markets - Korean / Chinese / Japanese and Vietnamese. I don't know about the UK but Australia and Canada have a huge East Asian population, especially relative to their population. Most big city folks from these areas are very cultured in ethnic (I mean East Asian) foods. I don't know who Amie is fooling. I bet a Tesla stock that she grew up eating Korean food. Wouldn't her mom would have cooked some Korean food at least?this bothered me as well. considering how close she is to her mum (who is Korean) i was surprised how she carried on like a complete noob about how “foreign” Korean food was. She made such a big deal on not being able to pronounce "makgeolli", the Korean rice wine her mom wanted. True, not all children of immigrants can speak their mother tongue but she sounds like a literal white colonist from the 1800s who couldn't be bothered to learn one word in another language and insist on English "superiority". I am not Korean and I managed to say makgeolli the first time I heard it, not perfectly but at least intelligible. You would think at least in these day and age, people are now aware that other culture and language exist right?this bothered me as well. considering how close she is to her mum (who is Korean) i was surprised how she carried on like a complete noob about how “foreign” Korean food was. Alright, you guys got me to watch her Korea vlog. I'm assuming her mom's first language is Korean, because of her slight accent and how fluidly she pronounced "makgeolli", and I very much doubt she "had no idea" what was going on at KBBQ. I couldn't tell if Amie just likes to do that thing where you overreact to the littlest thing or she is truly that ignorant. Even if her mom never spoke Korean in the house and never cooked Korean food, Korean culture is so popular globally now that you'd think Amie would have at least heard about some of these things (Like galbi, which does not rhyme with "cow", Amie). At the very least, it makes her look terribly uncool.I just watched her Korea trip and I actually felt sad for her this time, she literally have no knowledge of her cultural background and find it all super "surprising" that I have no idea whether she is playing it up for the camera. I just hope she doesn’t look down on the non-white part of her heritage as that would be really sad, not to mention disturbing. How can you live with someone who speaks another language and not pick any of it up, especially as a child. My (British) dad worked in the Netherlands, and some other countries when I was a kid and he’d pick up some words and teach me them. I can still count to 10 in Dutch and know a bunch of words.
How odd that she’d never want to learn about her mums culture, that’d make her 10 times more interesting than collecting 20 expensive pink bags.
exactly. i was born in Philippines and came to Australia very young, so while we grew up speaking English at home, i can understand Tagalog (even if i can no longer speak the language fluently) and i can pronounce Filipino words. I do not eat Filipino food in my day to day but I would certainly know of Filipino dishes my mum used to cook and what they are called if served to me. Further to that, I am married to a Frenchman and even though i am not fluent in French, i can understand the gist of conversations between him and his family and I can pronounce some French words and know of some of their regional dishes outside of mainstream - it’s something that naturally develops just living with a person everyday. It is completely unrealistic that Amie would have zero clue about Korean language or culture, so her acting like a white girl from the middle of Kansas at that Korean restaurant was dumb and offensive. How can you live with someone who speaks another language and not pick any of it up, especially as a child.
