There’s some good stuff in the shops at the moment, Christmas clear outs! I got a White Stuff jumper yesterday for £8, which seems a little pricey compared to your bargains, but it’s 58% merino/alpaca wool, so I’m thrilled as proper wool items new are expensive. Washed and dried it as soon as I could and snuggled into it today!

Brings back memories! rummage sales that I'd occasionally get taken to, so exciting. Still remember things I bought, one of which a black 1970s floaty cocktail dress, persuaded my mam to let me wear it to a school disco, think I was 10 or 11 so ofc the dress was a bit big on but must have made it fit with a belt. I felt like a movie starI miss jumble sales! They're so hard to come by these days and it's such a shame.
The next village over does one or two a year, but they don't get a lot of donations so I see the same weird unsellable things every time
There's a really good Scouts jumble sale 2x a year that I drive at least half an hour to another county go to which is just like the ones I remember from childhood - heaving great piles of clothes for pennies just separated out into adults & kids, small bric a brac on tables round the edge, a table of books in the middle and bigger items outside. It's chaos, it's cheap, and it's so much fun! People queue for ages to get in (costs 50p for adults) and fill multiple bin liners each - the scouts must make a good chunk of cash. Definitely need sharp elbows for this one!
I've had some fantastic bargains from there (best was 50p linen jumpsuit - I wear that all the time).
I guess there's a lot of effort involved, not to mention the storage space required, so there a fewer now.
Blissfully, I have never seen an obvious trader/reseller at the jumbles - I do see them haggling at bootsales and in charity shops though.
Can you find jumble sales where you are? How do you find out about them?

Exactly this, so many people that aren’t very well off and have been dependent on charity shops over the years are now being priced out.
Some items are almost as expensive as they were when they were new!
Not my find but I follow a lady on insta who lives in New York & she found Picasso plates in a thrift shop & sold them at auction for big money!

Preworn uk is like a big online second hand clothes shop. They have 50% off at the moment. I got a wool green peacoat for a fiver. I think they donate 15% to charities, not great but better than nothing if you can't get out.

The best thing I ever found was a nice knitted jumper that was official product of my husbands football team and had the club badge on it, it was miraculously in his size and it was one of those moments when I felt like light was shining over me and choirs were singing he was very happy!
Eta- we live nowhere near his club either so it was doubly amazing!
round here they are very much primark stuff overpriced but up in the countryside towns it’s better.

Bought a gorgeous dress for my sister's wedding that was €180 new and recently found the same dress, but in my favourite colour, in the charity shop for €15!
Got a Reiss sparkly party top for £3 at mine plus Orla Kiely mug x 2 for £5 and a pretty much brand new 1980’s theme trivial pursuit for £2. Love a good charity shop browse plus I always love a rummage in the vinyls for my record player. Got Kylie single of I should be so lucky and a ABBA album in last decent look.

Also those carrier bag doorstep collections where they leave a bag and come back for it a week later.
I really only shop in charity shops these days, I pop to my local town 2/3 times a week specifically for the charity shops. Recent good finds have been a pair of black Levi’s for £7, a brand new pair of wireless headphones for 50p!! (Took a punt and didn’t think they would work but they do and are fantastic), a zara teddy coat for £1 which has never been worn and a pair of Nike trainers £1
Going to see if I can build up a wardrobe of charity shop items and replace my current wardrobe. Natural fibres only. I only realised acrylic is plastic

I got a nice print canvas for a few quid it was in good condition and mass produced. I found it on Amazon for £30

Bought a Hobbs jacket for 50p and a Jack Wills tweed jacket for 10 quid recently. Also a 1930s Japanese condiment dish which is cute for 2 quid but worth a fair bit more! I love charity shops and rummaging about in them!
I took a lot of unwanted clothes and books to the local community shop. I managed to be strong and not come away with more clothes, even though they had a rail of beautiful multicoloured hand-knitted scarves for a fiver.
I did however pick up a brand new wardrobe space saver for 50p, 1.8 litre Crockpot slow cooker for £3 ( my brother was looking for one ), a lovely set of Russian dolls £1, a small embroidery kit 50p and a keyring tape measure 50p.
