I’ve moved to a new area so been doing some charity shop looking. I don’t really have an issue with what I buy some charity shops, just as long as it’s reasonably priced and good condition. Today I picked up a Paw Patrol bed set for my little boy; he’s grown out of Hey Duggee and this was a complete set in great condition for £2.50. I also got a Kristy Kreme coffee cup for 50p!

if my son is getting into something new, I’ll always check charity shops first.

There’s some good stuff in the shops at the moment, Christmas clear outs! I got a White Stuff jumper yesterday for £8, which seems a little pricey compared to your bargains, but it’s 58% merino/alpaca wool, so I’m thrilled as proper wool items new are expensive. Washed and dried it as soon as I could and snuggled into it today!

I really only shop in charity shops these days, I pop to my local town 2/3 times a week specifically for the charity shops. Recent good finds have been a pair of black Levi’s for £7, a brand new pair of wireless headphones for 50p!! (Took a punt and didn’t think they would work but they do and are fantastic), a zara teddy coat for £1 which has never been worn and a pair of Nike trainers £1

I got a 3 seater 2 seater and an arm chair for £225 with delivery. It was like new and still on DFS website for 3.5k without the arm chair

I love having a rummage, but i find my local ones are getting a bit crazy with the pricing. I was on the hunt for a black little vest top to go under something. Found a primark vest top, not sure how much it would be in primark as haven’t been in a long time but I’d guess £4 at the most? Charity shop wanted £6!! Their soft toys were all around the £3/£4 mark, surely they get overloaded with teddies and marking them up around £1 would shift them quicker? I get it’s for charity I do but shoppers also like a bargain and I assume more likely to spend more the more reasonable it’s priced?

A knitting file completely jam packed full of Alan Dart shop bought original knitting patterns and old Alan Dart magazine pull-out toy knitting patterns.. I could if I wanted to make fortune selling them on ebay..(Google them) . Some of the Beatrix Potter ones are selling for £25.00 upward, I knitted quite a few for my daughters I paid 5 pounds for the lot.

I went to Birmingham City centre last week to do some shopping somewhere new, for a change. I could only find 2 charity shops!! I was gutted! Maybe I’ve been spolit in my home town because there are lots near me. I just wanted to try somewhere new

I’ve had so many bargains over the years, mostly children’s clothes. That said, I used to go charity shop shopping a lot! Less so nowadays, as I’m so busy with work, but I still find the odd gem!

I remember once when I was out of work and skint and happened across a “5 items for £1” bin, with a load of Frugi stuff in!! All amazing quality too.

DD has had a Hatley coat for a couple of £, Jojo maman, joules and Boden stuff. Maybe the best bargain was a Paul Smith wax jacket for her that cost £4- I forget the RRP, but it was a lot

DD also had a decathlon ski jacket that was part of the 5 for £1 deal in another charity and that was subsequently worn by my friend’s 2 girls, then passed on. Not sure I’ve ever known such a good use of 20p

DD’s Christmas Day dress was monsoon, BNWOT, I paid £2.50! Once outgrown, we’ll pass it on

Best bargains I get are books. Most of what they stock is rubbish but still get a few hits a month.

I agree re donating unwanted stuff to charity shops . Always have and always will .
The best ones imo for bargains now are the local community ones and the local hospice shops. I've had so many bargains from the pound rails.
My husband just came back from one of those big furniture and household ones on the edge of a town with 5 books for a pound, 4 brand new stripey storage jars 50p each, brand new sheet and pillow cases set 2.99 and a beautiful Portmeirion half teapot,half mug with saucer and boxed for 3 pounds. Perfect for tisanes.
Just remembered my recent best buys. I went into a seaside community one last summer with a 2 pound coin, looking for a book. They had a " all trousers £1" rail and a 50p box. I got a navy pair of ALL saints cargo trousers, a good as new white linen Per Una top and a navy,white and green huge scarf , a quality complete outfit for my £2.00. Lol.

A really affluent town near me has a high street full of chazzers (like 14+) and there are some really good bargains sometimes. It's one of my favourite days out, actually - a good rummage with a break in a nice cafe I might even buy something in one of the fancy shops there, and I probably wouldn't visit more than once a year if it weren't for the chazzing.

Probably only about 5% of my wardrobe is NewNew, everything else is New To Me. I used to do really well for my kid too, but there's almost nothing for tweens/ teens in chazzers. Bootsales are better for that.

I'm fairly fat and pretty tall and I do well at bootsales when I look at the sellers - when I see someone built like me I know it's worth stopping!

I looooove a charity shop and it's often the first shop I visit when on holiday haha.

Most recent top finds for me were a lovely Fossil leather bracelet, still with tags on - £2 and a Monsoon dress, still with tags on for £4

It's the browsing element that's the most fun, you never know exactly what you will find. I guess young people nowadays buy most things on line but I grew up just browsing around shops most weekends (apart from xharity shops I now hate shopping) so it's quite therapeutic in a way

Bought a Hobbs jacket for 50p and a Jack Wills tweed jacket for 10 quid recently. Also a 1930s Japanese condiment dish which is cute for 2 quid but worth a fair bit more! I love charity shops and rummaging about in them!

Going to see if I can build up a wardrobe of charity shop items and replace my current wardrobe. Natural fibres only. I only realised acrylic is plastic so many clothes are acrylic. Picked up a cosy wool polo ralph lauren jumper today £3.50
