This was Olivia Rodrigo's event, there was no need for her to kick off at it and make it about her. I like her music but she's a moany b and it's very off putting.
Very “I am the main character” energy.
I mean her anger may well be valid but why is she doing this out in the open at some event? What is she hoping this will change?

I don't know why pop stars still pretend like they came from nothing when they are almost always from well-to-do if not straight up rich families. Taylor Swift doesn't pretend like she's from the holler and it hasn't affected her career one bit.

There are far less opportunities to make money from music these days. Pretty much the only people who can afford to go down the artist route these days have money to cushion them or to fall back on. Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Lana Del Ray etc...they're all full of tit about where they come from.
Have Charli and Lana ever claimed otherwise? The smartest thing is to just not talk about your background. Who cares what your parents do for work?

The behaviour at the Olivia Rodrigo premiere was so uncalled for. A photographer shouted at her at an event 8 months ago and she has a go at him on the carpet of her friends event?? If my friend did that to me I’d be mortified. More people are talking about Chappell’s behaviour there than Olivia’s premiere/Netflix film.
Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like she’s not just standing up for herself but in doing so she’s standing up for other female artists. I’m sure they’ve all experienced aggressive and rude paps before but as women we are told to laugh it off.
This isn't standing up for other female artists. Instead she's taken all the attention off the event she was at - where she was supposed to be supporting her fellow female artist Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS premiere.
Her and Olivia are friends, I’d support my friend standing up for herself at one of my events and I’m sure Olivia probably understands more than we do how aggressive paps can be.

He told another pap to duck off months ago, Chappell decided to square up to him on sight this time. She's taken all of Olivia's headlines.
I don’t have the details as I wasn’t there but it’s well known that paparazzi are aggressive and antagonise female celebrities to make them look crazy. It’s always been that way. They get the ump if you don’t give them the shot they want.
How is her calling out one pap going to make an industry wide difference?
Starting a trend and empowering other female artists to do the same?
Not sure that will work given that the news stories around this aren't the most positive and it’s mainly her own fans who are supportive of it - the average person following celebrity news/gossip mostly appears to see this as her wasting her energy and being unprofessional
The videos of her crying about fame a couple of months ago had better reception from the public than this incident
