I couldn't agree more! This series is treating viewers like we are fools but not even being subtle about it.

That is exactly what my husband said. He gave up watching as he said they weren't even bothering to cover up the discrepancies between the cooking and the end product.
I suppose it goes on every year, but I really have only realised noticed it this time around.
Out of the final four Joe is easily the worst, the other three seem good. I have tried to not dismiss his cooking just because I find him competely insufferable with his constant unnecessary shouting out 'go on my son' etc but if he isn't the next to go it will be a travesty.

My husband was asking me about the contestants last night and I ended up reading Megan's Wikipedia page. My god, she clearly just wanted to be famous and would do anything for it. As annoying as Joe is, at least he was an actor for years before becoming a celebrity TV pro.

Meghan is actually a pretty decent country music singer, she’s certainly a better singer than Joe is an actor.
Otherwise yes, Kadeena for the win, just outstanding last night.

I thought at some points they didn't even look like Joe's hands doing the close up cooking bits. They hardly showed him full body just face shot then cut to hands in gloves , could've been anyone. Seems very fake and staged this time.

That is another thing my husband said - especially with that bloody pie.
I can't think why though as it just seems so odd. Why try so hard to keep Squash in?

I was surprised Dion didn't go, his pie was the worst of the 5 and then his dessert was really basic and just cake really!

I found Kem annoying though with his fake "I can't cook" persona so it's no great loss but I did like the sound of his dessert, a shame it didn't come off.

I'm wanting Kadeena to win, she made an amazing pie even with the issues in her hands and her dessert looked amazing and so technical in parts. Plus she's actually "famous" for doing something rather than just being yet another reality star

Yes I thought the hands didn’t belong to Joe the dancing chimp either. And there’s no way in hell he did the lattice without help. Felt bad for Dion as he got the most unappetising looking pie to make!
None of them really filled the sweet shop brief either .

You can buy a special roller tool to make a lattice. It cuts the lines in the pastry and then you just use a knife to separate each cut. I used to have one. You could clearly see that’s what was used. I agree it was suspicious how Joe went from having no sponge and stringy rhubarb to having a completed dessert in half an hour. Funny how you didn’t see any of the process after the cocked up sponge?

Obviously in the minority but I like Joe, kem is the one I've had issues with. His fake I can't cook narrative has been so blindingly obvious. I do agree that this year something feels more staged, I don't know whether it's this batch of celebs are worst actors (kem can't deliver lines at all), or the writing, direction or editing is different but it all feels fake.

Also why couldn't Megan make a normal pie, she didn't have to eat it, just make it.

I have got the most horrible feeling he will win. Greggg and John seem to love him.
He is getting worse too. Always has to have the last word with his cheeky quips, bantz and shouting.
I've also realised that even if he doesn't win we will no doubt be seeing his grinning harmless face in future Celeb versions as a guest judge.

Yet again Jo scrapes through because someone else was worse than him on the day. Yes, I know this is how it is judged but repeating myself, he should have gone rounds ago.

I don't know if I can be bothered to watch tomorrow...

ETA: Lattice work lies yesterday, Soufflé lies today. I don't believe for one second Joe made those this evening without a lot of help. He is far too manic to execute such a delicate dish.

I keep saying I know it is a cooking and personality competition, but Joe's persona is just so off-putting. I fully agree about the unnecessary bantz - awful. The bloke has no filter, I bet the other contestants wished he would just shut up. He is also filthy and slovenly - workspace, floor around him and his aprons - yuk! Don't get my started on "My Stace..."
