May I share a photo of Sandy, sadly long gone. She was such a sweet natured cat, really lovable. My Brother used to call her the Princess of cuteness.
Sorry about the ancient photo, but this was the late 80's/early 90's

As you can see, she was well read!
How stunning! What is it with cats and paper?! Mine love sitting on it and my girl has realised that I hate the noise os it being chewed, at weekends when I am too late with breakfast she chews on it so I can hear and ammpromoted tobget out of bed and get food for her 😅🤣

Tin foil and bin liners. My (other) cat is such a wuss, she runs away at the mere rustling of a bin liner! 🤣
One of my cats is obsessed with plastic. Every time he can find a plastic bag he sits there locking it almost as if he is grooming it, so bizarre 🤣

I think they start to associate it with shopping (or in their eyes food). I had a cat like that.

Lyra is settling in well, she's still not made friends with Macy but i've read it can take time. And I think when Macy arrived it took a few Weeks for her to be friends with our other Cats( at the time we had 3 others)

Here’s my girl. We’ve had her about 9 months but she’s just turned 2. I got her from Gumtree but only because Cats Protection wouldn’t rehome to me (they claim the road behind my house is too busy). We had just lost our 11 year old cat the month before and I desperately needed to fill the kitty shaped hole in my life.
She’s terrified of me so I think she was maybe abused as a kitten or not socialised with humans properly, but we’re making good progress. Love her to bits.

Oh she's beautiful, we got Lyra from gumtree as the local Cat charities near us for Kittens you had to have 2/3. I was abit wary of gumtree but we were able to meet both parents. And the Lady gave a Cat toy as we were leaving to help Lyra adjust so it had her original houses smell.
Which made me think she came from a good home & i've had Cats forever and never wouldve thought about doing that.

I got mine on gumtree too for similar reasons, not a road but I cannot put in a catflap (not an issue as I just open the back door for them). She is stunning, little sock hands 😍

Yes I was able to go and meet her before deciding if I should take her or not. The family who had her before were a bit vague on where she originally came from but honestly once I saw her I couldn’t not take her.
It’s so tough I get why the charities are so strict but it’s hard when you know you can give a fur baby in need a good home and they won’t consider you. I’d applied four times for different cats before they eventually sent me an email telling me what the issue was. So frustrating.

I'm just going to add that my cat (who has just kicked me out my chair) is awesome in the secure knowledge that when I do his flea/worm treatment in the next 24 hours, he will treat me like the world's biggest b for at least a day.

Both my cats are rescues one from a charity in Athens the other I just found at my hotel in Rhodes and brought him home, if anyone is thinking a about a rescue the foreign ones are less strict as long as you can prove you are going to be giving them a good life. It’s defo not as expensive as people think.

@OutrageouslyScarlet did you have to put little cat through quarantine?
Nope, no Quarantine from European countries (even now we aren’t in the EU) they just have to have all their shots etc, which if you are doing through a charity they sort all of that for you. I’m currently fostering a Romanian dog and she was dropped straight or my door from Romania x

There are so many cats in Rhodes! My other half currently works at a hotel there and is friends with all the cats! I was so sad when I visited though because they are so so skinny and it was ridiculously hot like 45 degrees :( He doesn't get paid much at all and buys cat biscuits for them and always keeps a bowl of water and a bowl of biscuits outside his accom.
