I can’t remember the exact details but they basically over charged her. So it was along the lines of, they knew she was responsible for the death, but they couldn’t say for sure it was premeditated (or whatever the exotic details of the charg were) so they couldn’t find her guilty of what she was being charged with and there was no other option on which to convict.
Just to say I meant *exact, not exotic 🤦🏼‍♀️ don’t know how I got so many typos!

A similar thing, sort of, happened with Robert Durst. The Jinx is a really good documentary series if you’re into people who are guilty but not convicted.
In addition to the disappearance of his wife, he killed someone, dismembered and dumped the body. He claimed self defence. Because the head was never found, they were unable to disprove the self defence claim so he was aquitted.

Yeah it's always stayed with me this case. She's now claiming her dad killed Caylee isn't she? I don't believe her.

Casey's lawyer went on Nancy Grace or some other show saying he'd abused Casey, however they never brought it up in court or provided any evidence. It was just bollocks from Casey to try and colour public opinion, create some reasonable doubt and create a smokescreen. Just like her inventing the nanny, and inventing a job at Universal studios. She is a pathological liar and everything that comes out of her mouth is bullshit.

Casey did it, there is no other possibility.

ETA: I didn't realise this was an old thread, lol.
It was Nancy Grace that egged the whole prosecution on in the first place, iirc.

My view is that Casey is guilty of something, but not 1st degree murder. To use a UK example they'd probably have charged her with Causing Or Allowing The Death Of A Child, which is much easier to prove than murder.

She also reminds me, appearance wise, of my ex girlfriend. Somewhat disconcertingly.
