I also find it weird there’s no chat about trying again in January? Maybe they’re not allowed to join late? But if they could, I’d be in the door the first week of January determined to make this work. Totally agree school will be a disaster next September if he doesn’t get a handle on things this year, the poor pet.
This is exactly what she should do..actually what she should do is lay down boundaries now and try again after October midterm but really if she feels he needs time then yes try In January but its Like she just can't be bothered to battle through this. She has to realise this will not change or get easier ever! Unless they make changes now.
My son loves school, cried many days for preschool, was even flagged as possibly ASD as he just couldn't get with the routine. He went every day from 3 to 5. At 5 he has now started juniors and loves it but even today said he feels a bit nervous about going in. We talked about it and he got a hug amd a kss and hopped in the door this morning. It's not linear, there is no easy age. All of it is hard. Get a grip Caroline and be a parent

Poor 'victim' Caroline. The only victim here is her coddled child. He's probably trying to pull it down off the wall as he's anxious and she won't let him. Is that a ladder there? She'll tell him ladders are the devil and that'll be a new fear.
It should be illegal to share personal details/diagnosis etc about your child on public accounts. If my parents had done this to me I don't think I would ever get over it! It is so disrespectful and invasive. I don't think she understands how dangerous what she is doing is. If you read Caroline please stop for both your sakes

It's such a shame that attendance isn't compulsory for preschool. Its so important for social and emotional development. There is no consistency in his attendance to creche so wonder it doesn't feel safe. I imagine he comes home and it's all drawing and playtime. Home during preschool hours shouldn't be the better alternative.

poor boy! Cause she can’t step up and play hard ball for a few days C will now struggle in juniors if he ever even makes it in the door. There is actually a curriculum in ecce now that he will miss out on. It’s shocking!!!! Maybe if she’d work and not events to go to things would change. Her husband is either her partner in crime or has zero back bone to snap her outta her BS and get the child into school. She’s just so weird! She’ll regret this come juniors next year even tho he’s the same age as my daughter so she actually legally doesn’t have to send him Til he is 6 to primary so that’s sept 2026. Watch this space bet he won’t be sent next year!!

I’d bet my house on him not being sent to primary school next year. She will keep him home for as long as possible so SHE doesn’t have to deal with it. Meanwhile the kid is missing out on important learning and socialising. My child did the two years of ECCE and flew into Junior infants last year not a bother. People underestimate how important playschool is for kids it really does prepare them for starting primary, the teachers do a lot of prep work with them for it.
Since preschool has come under the ECCE curriculum there is a big focus on preparing for school and socialising and how to turn take, make decisions and gain independence as well as working on fine and gross motor skills. I found once the 2 preschool years were done, the first few weeks pf primary school are no big deal at all for us or our kids. She is doing C a massive disservice by keeping him home and taking him to work events. Who even allows that! She is making a spectical of him in front of her work colleges and treating it as if it's a place for a child. She obviously visibly wants to shoe how tough her life is. Where is the childminder!
What is she going to do next September?? Sit outside his class room or school making videos of herself crying?? And even if she postponed, she's kicking a can tin down the road. He has to go to school eventually!!!!

There is literally nothing else going on in her life at all.
