I feel for her as she is clearly struggling. My boy started his 2nd year of Ecce this month & for the first 2 weeks I had to man handle him in the door & it was dreadful. He is very happy now a month in & loves it. It's normal behaviour, she just needs to leave. Although now it may be harder given the attention the whole thing has been given. Young children need the parents to be in charge & consistent to feel safe.

I guess I’m lucky my 3.5 year old ran in the door of school this year, has yet to have a wobble, loves it. Each child is so different.
C is a smart kid, he knows if he kicks off enough, she’ll come back, kids don’t give in easy either. But never allowing your child to feel uncomfortable is doing them such an injustice. It’s how they learn? They develop their own coping mechanisms.

Exactly I think C knows if he kicks off enough she’ll come back. She is jus setting herself up for hardship in years to come because C knows can throw a tantrum and scream his way out of something he doesn’t wanna do.

Everything she is describing is a very real part of parenting for all of us. However the difference here is she has the luxury to stay and wait for his break down or protestations amd because she has no other job in life she is probably glad to get off the floor and head back in and take him home. The rest of us detach ourselves from our kids, head away and go to work. Mostly worried sick, if our kids have been crying that morning but none the less we can't just stay sit and wait. We have to get on with life, go to work or home to other kids. She needs to get a life and allow Cealan is live his with his little friends at montessori

Nothing is stronger than the patience those Montessori staff have with these two. She’s an anxious mess who has created another anxious mess it’s not surprising this is the second failed attempt. And aorry but what is him crawling through a tunnel every morning supposed to do exactly?? Its as if someone fobbed her off with these things to get her out because they sure as hell aren’t working.
What’s going to happen next September when he’s due to start primary school?

They’re sensory regulation tools recommended by an occupational therapist and are very effective when used correctly with children who experience anxiety/ dysregulation in the context of sensory processing differences. They are commonly used with autistic/ADHD children and have a strong evidence base. The fact they don’t appear to be helping would indicate there’s more to the picture than sensory overload

I feel so sorry for that little boy. I have a 3 1/2 year old myself, they can be so manipulative &stuborn but at the end of the day Im the adult so she has learned that her havong mega tantrums doesnt work. Shes not emotionally damaged because we dont give in to her every whim. The oppisite infact, a very happy confident little girl.

I have a grown man now. Parenting was different without the internet. Feels so wrong to watch a little boy exploited and let down so publicly.

Three year olds can be VERY hard work. You spend an inordinate amount of time jollying them along. They refuse to get dressed, eat, put their shoes on. They kick off in public, at home. They’re scared of noises. They are little tyrants.
Caroline is making a complete a of it and unfortunately nobody is stepping in to stop her. It’s painful to see and she’s doing her son no favours at all.
