It’s often said that you wing it in parenting, that there’s no manual… except that she read way too many gentle parenting books and is up to her neck in it with a three year old. You need to be kind, but firm. Certain things are not allowed, certain things are non negotiable.
Kids NEED routine. Her flip flopping is 90% of her problem.
What happens when the kid refuses to get dressed, brush teeth, go to school? Is she planning to homeschool?

The little bollix would throw a toilet roll down my stairs the once.
They are mostly feral at that age and a parents job is to set the boundaries. A simple theory but hard hard work.

Agree, I do feel sorry for him in a way that he prob doesn't have a clue where he stands from one end of the day to the other, neither of them (mother or child), seem to know who is in charge

She frcked it up, way too late to try and set boundaries as the child knows he will wear her down or she will fold. This is the advertisement against gentle parenting!

At the point where she let him sit down while they were eating their takeaway, how did she not realise he was heading into crazy overtiredness and then won’t go down until 10! It’s text book. I don’t think she listens to any friends or family.

grand if she’s actually happy with him to stay up to 10 but if it results in her in a fit of rage then doesn’t sound like it’s working for anyone.

All of these rage posts are really strange. Is she going to be a rage expert soon? 😅🙈

She absolutely does not practice gentle parenting - The whole ethos of gentle parenting is (gentle) consistent boundaries and she's never ever shown any boundaries let alone consistent ones!

Yes, as she said herself it's permissive parenting.
It's like she just can't be bothered to deal with the (inevitable) pushback you get when you say no. But she knows that her way isn't working so why persist with it? CONTENT!

It’s not actually parenting she is doing at all - of any description!

Poor kid. Kids crave and thrive on boundaries and expect parents to set them - whatever they are. That is how they feel safe - within their boundaries. Caroline is not creating these boundaries hence the little lad does not know where he stands - contributing to his insecurity, and not knowing how to behave etc

All her life she has had people doing things for her and rescuing her. Nobody can do this job for her. Caroline needs to realise she has responsibilities now and needs to parent the child. She is paving the way for a very, very difficult path ahead as the child grows up.

100% you've said it all really well there! Pity you're just a "troll" 🤣🤣 (like the rest of us)

*After letting him decide he didn't want to go to bed, but instead wanted to yeet a loo roll around the house, go back downstairs and join for adult dinner, and have play with his Dad in the garden

I wonder why he wouldn't sleep 🤔

I too would struggle to get back to bed after getting back up and doing these things...

Did she really share that hostage situation last night? It was like she like an episode of home alone except there were parents present who had been taken hostage by their kid. The amount of loo roll…seriously would you be well? Watching and filming it all, surely the kid thinks he’s been rewarded with all the attention? And the dramatic deep breathing, this woman clearly hasn’t had a lot of challenge in her life…

This admission of rage towards your child is concerning
Interestingly I'd read a couple of articles on "Mum Rage" recently, before Caroline started mentioning it.

But the articles mention how Mums can sometimes get this anger at situations with their kids due to the unfairness of life, extreme tiredness, having to balance the competing demands of work/running a home/looking after family, and having little social support and no time for caring for themselves or doing anything they enjoy.

Which absolutely does not describe Caroline's life in any way shape or form - I'm not sure the authors of those articles meant Mums who have loads of support from grandparents, who could get in a sleep consultant a few weeks in, always has had a childminder come to the home, regularly goes out for dinner and drinks, had a recent weekend away with husband, can go to regular Botox appointments, and can fob off work when they like 😆

this 💯!!!! She is clueless and doesn’t realise that some people have minimal or zero support. No nights out, no spare cash for Botox 😂😂 she’s living in la-la land! If she had a day in the life of us “plebs” that would straighten her out and maybe she’d finally realise she has it pretty good!!!!!

As you look out the window at your child playing football with his Dad in the garden after 9pm, after a failed bedtime attempt, do you not take a good look at yourself and say ‘I’ve definitely ducked up here’ 😂 we all have days where our parenting goes off the rails, but Christ, posting it online and very much implying it was the child’s fault he was up past 10. Was the kick about supposed to lull him off to sleep Caroline?
