Thing is, even if he phoned the Police out of spite, she still wanted him back and he was still posting how he loved her. Just a toxic relationship. I don't see why her mother blames him though. She could have at least expressed at the inquest that she didn't handle her relationships well. It's like she's saying Caroline was completely blameless which she obviously wasn't.

Also, Caroline went through loads in the press when she was with Andrew yet learnt nothing from it and posted her new relationship with Lewis on her Instagram (unless she wanted to make Andrew jealous?). She should have learnt from her past mistakes sharing too much of her private life in the media and kept her personal life private. Lots of other people in the public eye are able to keep their personal lives private.

I liked her but she just seemed very immature in her relationships not helped by dating younger guys all the time.

Given that she was (reportedly) terrified of the police body cam footage being used in court, it seems that even if the intention of his call to the police had been vindictive, it was proved to be a justified action given her behaviour. It's outrageous that people in these threads are blaming him, he was the victim here and I still think it's unjustified that people don't believe he can move on. More time has passed since her death than the length of time they were reportedly in a relationship.

I have a friend who lost her partner. When she moved on and found a new boyfriend, she faced a lot of backlash. You cant expect people to live in a constant state of mourning.

I can well imagine all her relationships were toxic.

Agreed. Same with the ex of Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, although, they had been together much longer and had kids.

But with suicide, their late partner made a devastating decision that would leave them to have to continue life without them.
Cannot blame them when they find love again or move on.

I can’t find anything that says she had an addiction, only that she took a ‘small drugs overdose’ but the drugs aren’t stated.

The police officer attending after her death said that there was ‘evidence of suicide attempts elsewhere in the property’ which sounds really chilling...

Speaking at the inquest, Harley Street psychiatrist Dr Brian Wells shared a statement.

Mr Wells claimed on December 22 of last year, Flack’s management team informed him she had taken a “small drug overdose” in a London hotel.

He said he was told Flack had been drinking alcohol at the time of the incident.

It sounds to me like she was a victim of mental abuse and coercion from him as well; they were both awful to each other. I am sure I read that he threatened her with ruining her career and that he distributed pictures to people for sale to the press. I think she was rightly concerned about the police sharing the bodycam footage if she had self-harmed and he was in highly emotional state in the recordings. While you may say she was unjustified it certainly seems like he was playing games and there was some sort of coercive control to the relationship. After two similar relationships she may have snapped and lashed out. The inquest recorded that she was being victimised by a previous ex, so I don’t think it was all roses for Caroline and I don’t think that Lewis was the victim of sustained domestic abuse.

I’m sure I read that when the police arrived at her house that night, she was completely naked and covered in her own blood and in a total state.... so presumably she didn’t want footage/images of her nude and in that mess out on public display?

There are various levels of assault as I understand it. I don’t think that is the same as attacking him. It’s just language and my opinion but it sounds far more premeditated than the assault she was charge with.

If she was a victim of cohersive control and in the sort of relationship where he regularly threatened her and exploited her vulnerabilities then she would have partial defence for assaulting him.

When the police came, she was uncontrollable and upturned a table and wouldn’t calm down.

Lottie Tomlinson can hold her own, she's been in the public eye for a decade or so - she was employed by her brother in some capacity - I'm not sure what her actual job title was though. She's been through a tough time, losing her mother then her younger sister, and has probably bonded with Lewis through mutual grief.

None of this sits well with me at all. Every day they have been on the Mirror since they’ve gone on this holiday. Either one or both of them have told the paps what they’re up to. They are both monopolising on Caroline’s death and it’s disgusting. I know people seem to like Lottie but for me, in this situation, they are both as bad as each other.
