to know what happened with Aifric. It's consuming me at this point.

2FM are so brain dead. Last year, whatever about anything else, they had gotten a load of highly paid people off the payroll.
To replace the 2 Johnnies, all they had to do was to just let Aifric and Aindriu take over that slot. It wouldn't have cost them a cent more as they were already staff. And it would have had continuity with the previous show, and they had a good shot of maintaining that cohort of listeners.

Instead, they drop Aifric in to breakfast (where she did great) while they hemorrhaged listeners from the afternoon slot.
So what do they do in their shakeup - bring Doireann back in , and probably double the wage bill. And then, incredibly, drop the single best broadcaster from their entire lineup. I wouldn't let this guy Dan Healy run a bath, never mind a national radio station.

Breakfast radio has gone to the dogs without Aifric. I still can’t believe Doireann is back such a waste, I hope they are haemorrhaging Listeners. I hope Aifric tells her side of things down the line.

Well done @Guojon absolutely nailed that summary and how I feel too! Dan Healys erratic interview with Clare Byrne last year should have been enough for heads in RTÉ to realise what a duck up he is but they were too busy with other scandals. He made a balls up with Lottie Ryan and then tried Beta da silva which didn’t work either. Like how many chances does he get. Emma and Graham were huge improvement on them for afternoons. Aifric was saving 2FM on her own , she improved the 2 Johnnies first and then brought in record ratings in breakfast listeners as a lot followed her to that slot. The ship had steadied a bit and now this lineup will be a disaster. It must be a seriously toxic environment in there and can only imagine Aifric was the scapegoat ,maybe given ultimatums over staying with the 2 Johnnies.

This is a great point too. I think there is a case to be made that a huge part of the 2Js success was down to her. They themselves admit they hadn't a notion when they started

She’ll do the opposite of Louise moanbag McSharry. I’d say some other radio station will scoop Aifric up.
Carl Mullan is stealing a living. I don’t know how he got where he is, unfunny and that voice and faces he makes.
