Yeah I'm in Wales and our primary school say if you have good attendance you can usually have up to 10 days off in term time. Has to be authorised by the head though. He did say he'd seen an increase lately so would be expecting there to be a good reason for it not just cost or whatever. We usually go out if school holidays and have never been fined. Whether that will change when she goes to high school I don't know
