Duane you mean?I’ve really enjoyed watching the old episodes! I was a big fan of brookside, didn’t start watching it until early 90’s so have enjoyed watching from the beginning. I didn’t know that Ian Mercer, who plays Damon was in at the start, he also was Gary Mallet from Coronation street. I’m now ready for the next release of episodes.
Getting mixed up, yes Duane! He definitely is a bad oneDuane you mean?
I know. I never knew that too. Hes a bad un tho.
Lovely job!!!Episodes 11-20 are now on the STV Player
I’ve just joined this thread, this is what I remember too! I don’t remember the earlier episodes!NoI was traumatised for years after the body under the patio.
Didn't help that my dads commentary at the time was "there's a hand" while I hid in the other room.
I think the actress who played Karen was about 20 yrs old at the time.Karen is annoying isnt she. I vaguely remembered her being like that. I feel the teenager thing is overacted. The eye rolls etc.
I had a feeling she was older. She def does the moody 80s teen well just a bit over the top imoI think the actress who played Karen was about 20 yrs old at the time.
Moody 80's teenI was one
Peak Practice is also being repeated….just to warn youGreat to see it back on TV! I never knew that Amanda Burton was in it and I cannot stand her for some reason! Made worse at the moment because I am watching Waterloo Road and last year's Silent Witness - she is in the episodes I am watching just now in both shows! My wife is watching The Commander which stars Amanda Burton... and today I put on Brookside and there's bloody Amanda Burton!! I'm scared to go into work tomorrow in case we have a new start and it's Amanda Burton!
We've watched the first episode and it really is a blast from the past. It's a shame STV haven't made a month worth of episodes available at a time, at the five episodes a week pace we'll be watching for 11 years!
2 very good actors, Ricky Tomlinson & Sue Johnston, they make it look easy, I don't think Brookside would have taken off without them.I had a feeling she was older. She def does the moody 80s teen well just a bit over the top imo
Another thing- sometimes i get the feeling esp with the Grants and Bobby and Sheila in particular, that their script is well… not scripted. Does that make sense?
Yeah i did think that too. They go so well together it was maybe just so natural when filming.2 very good actors, Ricky Tomlinson & Sue Johnston, they make it look easy, I don't think Brookside would have taken off without them.
Have to admit I do like Lucy's rebelling against her snob father though, some stinging barbs aimed at him.I loved the first ten years of brookside, so will be watching this on STV Player. I’m surprised that we didn’t see much of Paul Usher outside of Brookie, he was fantastic as Barry Grant
Some of the characters are beyond irritating - I had forgotten how much so. Lucy Collins is no.1 irritant for me
Closely followed by Gavin Taylor..
I am surprised at how badly Alexandra Pigg plays Petra Taylor. Is it just me who finds that she seems to struggle with the role? Some of her facial expressions look really forced.
I was quite shocked at her dad being 55, blimey thought he was older!!!Have to admit I do like Lucy's rebelling against her snob father though, some stinging barbs aimed at him.
Quite witty
Me too. I wouldve said 70 at least!!I was quite shocked at her dad being 55, blimey thought he was older!!!
