I’ve watched two episodes already.

It’s not quite what I was expecting. I know all of Robbie and Jason’s voice overs are taken from old interviews, but you can’t really tell which parts are new interviews with Gary, Howard and Mark because it’s all done in voice over.

Story wise it’s nothing new. If you were a fan in the 90s you know the story inside out. Having said that the nostalgia is brilliant, and the never seen before footage is nice, but realistically this whole series would have been pointless without new footage.

Looking forward to the final episode because their redemption arc / making up with Robbie always gets me in the feels.

Glad it is not all new stuff as I have just cancelled Netflix.

Ah that's a pity. Yes I think any of us who were big fans know it all. Especially that initital interview the four of them did years ago after not being together for so long, that was fantastic. Was hoping Jason and Robbie would take part. I'll watch it anyway but pity it's nothing new for the majority of us. Maybe people who don't know much about their story will get more out of it.

I recently rewarded the 2005 doc on YouTube and it was fascinating. There's an air of sadness and desperation, Howard's DJing, Marks solo stuff has flopped, Jason seems to have been unemployed for 10 years 🤣. Pot bellied Nigel Martin Smith is foul but adds some interesting insights. It's funny watching knowing how they blew up just a year later!

That was such a good documentary! It's fantastic now looking back at how well they've done second time around.

I wonder how Jason is these days.

I remember it so well. It was a really sad watch. Can’t imagine the psychological impact of being so incredibly famous and adored, to a bunch of lonely has beens and laughing stocks. It felt so bittersweet watching them together, looking uneasy.

At the start of episode 3, you can see that the press were ready to push the has-been narrative when they announced they were reforming. A reporter says that “there were only three girls outside here waiting for you this morning” and Mark immediately says “that was just my sister and her mates”. God the press were so cruel.

I’ve finished episode 3 (my excuse is I booked the day off work - not because this was dropping 😂) and it’s my favourite by far. I love this part of the story. How brave they were to even try again, the brilliant music (I prefer post reunion TT to 90s TT by far), how they managed to achieve massive success again but also the love and respect they have for each other. Teenage me would never have imagined I’d still be going to see them live at the grand old age of 45.

Never Forget definitely

Do you think it maybe annoys Gary it’s by far their best song and he doesn’t sing lead? 🤣

The original documentary takes me back to such a great time in my life, discussing it in the office the next day, the rush for reunion tickets, the euphoria of that gig.

I’ve just put on the first episode but not sure I’ll continue with the rest. Found it very boring, the voice overs from Gary are so boring and you can tell it’s being read and not just natural chat.

I've just skipped those two now, nothing new really. Going straight to Episode 3 now.
