I'm very big on kpop (after being into British girl/boybands since I was a kid) and I can promise it is actually a lot better than the Demon Hunters film suggests! I know a lot of kpop groups took inspo from Little Mix songs for example
Anyone feel they were a bit mean about the latter version of the Sugababes on the show? Amelle and Heidi came across as sweet and humble, but they showed clips insinuating they were rubbish because there were no original members. Even their former manager was slagging them off!

100% the talent and production values would blow European groups out of the water.
Someone like Ateez, relatively small chart success in the EU and US (yes I know they played Coachella) but they're selling out huge stadiums in the EU and US with very little chart exposure over here.
I’ve never really listened to any band but I’m sure the music is great. It’s just harder to get each individual band members personality it will never beat British bands in my opinion because you can always affiliate with someone in a band especially a British one you feel like you know them through social media and our tabloids amplify everything anyway so you think you know them
So glad I grew up in the boy/girl band era, I don't mind a lot of the music around nowadays, it'sjust not the same. You can't help but sing along to a pop song from the 90/00s.

But surely that is the whole point of bringing back TOTPs or similar???
People just don't watch TV in the same way, especially kids. 9 year old me had naff all to do in 1993 and TOTP was the highlight of my week. My 9 year old niece in 2025 and her friends would not give a fig, they're on their iPads and watching YouTube. TOTP would not get people watching and it's probably quite an expensive show, I don't think artists would bother showing up when they can promote their music more cheaply and effectively through their own social media.

I remember them coming out just as I was leaving school at 16, I used to wear combats, vest and adidas out to foam parties. Also cut my very long hair like Natalie Imbruglia in Torn video. Good times
