Boybands Forever

Just on the first episode but it seems like things we already knew or guessed, so nothing new.
Yeah I like these docs for the nostalgia but they're really scraping the barrel on trying to find scandal that isn't already well documented. There's really nothing new to be learnt about the Spice Girls, Kerry and Brian ect unless you weren't born or were very young.

I felt like they tried to imply Mis Teeq finished and Alesha had success straightaway when that’s not the case. Doing Strictly saved her career

I absolutely loved eternal when I was young. I liked Spice girls, always thought All Saints seemed witchy but can’t deny shaznay is a great song writer, pure shores is amazing. In hind sight Girls Aloud are the best girl band though IMO.

I woke up this morning and just had to find out what happened to Precious.

One of them, Kalli, is Zara Larsson's manager.

Anya who was a model in J17 etc before the band (and I feel like she dated Duncan from Blue?!) now works at Barry's Bootcamp, is still gorgeous, doesn't seem to have pumped her face with injectables yet still can slice bread with her cheekbones. I just looked it up, she was engaged to Duncan. But also I just read that Lee claims he and Duncan had a sexual relationship within the band. This is too much boyband gossip for a Sunday morning, I haven't even had a cup of tea yet.

Sophie who was also a CBBC presenter now seems to be selling snake oil with "the UK's leading female biohacker" Jude Cunningham off Hollyoaks, Davinia Taylor.

I couldn't find anything about Louise.

Jenny we all know about, of course, but I didn't know about this unorthodox wedding guest attire she wore to Natasha's nuptials a few years ago! She looks amazing but I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to get my titties out at a wedding.

I think obscure girlbands would be my specialist subject on Mastermind.

Kerry seemed bitter about Jenny. It’s not her fault you walked away. All their big songs apart from Whole Again were with Jenny

It's odd because I'm fairly certain Kerry's earning potential was much higher out of Atomic Kitten than in, and it's not like music or performing were her passions. She made money out of her personality and private life. Kerry wanted to be famous and that's what she got. Maybe she's a little envious of Jenny's stability and lack of notoriety.

Remember when she did Britain's Sexiest with Michael Greco in that ridiculous choker and corset combo?

I don’t believe amelle when she said that she was told to look moody because that was the vibe of the band Heidi he was always smiling and it was never a problem

They definitely need to do another couple of episodes, including Cleopatra Girls Aloud and if they can the Spice Girls and the Saturdays they could also do another season of mixed boy and girl bands

I guess there’s always stuff they couldn’t include but I always remember The Tide Is High being a big part of The Lizzie McGuire movie. I loved that scene

Definitely needed another episode, so many not included.

Heidi was always a fav and I still hold out hope she will be on the Masked Singer one day - maybe as a sugar cube (too obvious?!)

Yes, would love one with Steps, S Club, Hearsay, Liberty X etc

I’ve only seen episode one so far. I thought it was really off the way Mel and Kellie talked about Wannabe.

Kerry was a pretty girl when she was younger
she really was! the juxtaposition between her younger and current self kind of made me sad watching it (i know she has many issues but i’ve always found her quite a sad character).

i did think it was a bit unfair, as said above, that they acted like alesha was favoured by the label and singled out for fame when really it was strictly that gave her career that push.

Just binged girls bands forever. Still very odd that their no mention of girls aloud at all even if the girls didt want to be involved at least 1 mention wouldt of a miss unless their doing a boyzone style doc ..but it a solid bit of telly. Now going to be playing all those bangers as my working from home soundtrack this week.

I saw Eternal live not long ago, the Bennett sisters and the new French girl, they were fairly awful. The new girl was the best! (I still bopped though 🫣)

I've also seen Louise a few times and she's really good, her voice has a really pleasant tone and she still performs well. Easther was obviously an outstanding singer but she really seems to strain these days.

Every time I remember she was married to Shane from Boyzone I chuckle at the culture blend that was their wedding
I really like Shane. I admire how he turned his life around but I also find him a bit odd. I’m sure he’s spoken about quitting anything to do with showbiz because it’s not very Christian but is now happily joining the new farewell tour (how many farewell tours can one band have)
