The lads from Boyzone came across well in the documentary. Louis Walsh, well, didn't. In fact it left me wondering whether or not he was the person who gave the story to The Sun about Stephen being gay. The reporter from The Sun did say it was someone from their inner circle.

Finished all episodes, the third one was so sad when they start talking about Stephen’s death. Can tell how much it still affects them. Love the boys, feel sorry for Mikey, hate Louis! I also think it’s him that sold the story as well now!

100%. He would have absolutely done that!
Journalists must have to learn how to have no morals or conscience or care for others. They literally don’t give a tit who they hurt.

I have a soft spot for Ronan. I cried when he left Magic FM last summer 🫣

Trying to find a way to watch this documentary!

Oh I hope it wasn’t Louis 😪

I cried when they spoke about Stephen being so scared of the fans reaction and then seeing all the signs of support and cheering

I'm going to watch this, I remember seeing them at Wembley in the 90s and I had to wear ear plugs the screaming was so loud!

I have watched the first two eps. Also came to the conclusion whilst Louis may not have directly sold the story outting Stephen he had a hand in it getting out.
The devastation of the lads and Stephen's sister over his hand being forced this many years on made me very emotional. As did the outpouring of love he received from the fans.

Oh that was a sad watch. Louis doesn’t come across particularly well but I suppose at least he owns it - I feel like that was very much how things worked twenty odd years ago. He’s looking very old! Poor old Mikey seems quite damaged by it all, and the stuff about Stephen was heartbreaking. I didn’t realise it was when they had reunited which makes it all the more poignant.

I feel watching it all back, having been 16 at the time… Stephen Gately really opened the flood gates for a lot of boybanders, celebs etc then and since then. For example- Mark from Westlife still had to “come out” in 2005!

Just mind blowing though how Rav Singh kinda shrugged it off. The tabloids are utter rum, especially back then. But no one more than The S*n 😡

Louis won’t confirm his own sexuality. A bit rich playing around with Stephen’s when hes gay himself

I've just started this. Stephen Gately was such a beautiful person, inside and out. I remember the press outing him and then his passing. So sad. I could never warm to Ronan but I did like his singing voice and his solo stuff was decent too.

Iv only watched 2 episodes. I honestly can’t stand Ronan Keating and his attitude. He blows with the wind

Louis either told them about Stephen or did absolutely nothing to stop the media reporting on it. I wonder how bad things really got/ affected them that Mikey couldn't even do a video call with the others let alone meet up with them, but obviously his mental health comes first.
Watching this and Boy bands Forever has brought back the love of their music but sadness on how they were treated by everyone, they got to do what they loved, the money and fame but at such a cost.

Mikey was always very quiet and probably not cut out for the celeb lifestyle. I remember around the time of the initial split my mum calling me from our local in central London as Mikey was in there, he has a bodyguard with him to stop him playing the machines as he had a gambling problem. I had matured and no longer considered myself a 'fan' but popped in to be nosey. He was lovely just a normal bloke having a pint and chatting to the locals. Year later following Stephen's death I was on the same plane as the remaining four flying from Dublin to London (they boarded before everyone else as VIP's). I remember thinking Shane was a stunning man and Ronan was really short and acting like a wick.

I have come across Keith a few times in his charity work and he’s a gentleman. I really think Ronan was and is the ego of the band.

just watched the first ep

I'm so upset for mikey (or mick, as they call him). seems he's still carrying a lot of baggage, which is fair tbh

I'm even feeling some sympathy for ronan, what with the "get the blond one out" thing

I will never not be upset thinking about stephen

louis walsh and rav singh will never see heaven

Keith seems to be the most well adjusted still
