I used to love Five. Absolutely howling that they were supposed to be considered "bad boys". That marketing push didn't even register in my little childhood noggin 🤣

I was a big fan of magazines as a kid, and I remember sometimes they would literally have videotapes as free gifts. I remember 'got the feelin' by 5ive was on one I got free from TV Hits magazine

I remember as a kid at a Little Chef once I got a free O-Town CD 😅

I seem to recall J was asked about the line "ain't got no manners cos I eat with my fingers" in one of the magazines as it was a bit tame

his reply was something along the lines of "well, I can't sing 'aint got no manners cos I'll rip your daughter's panties off'" 😆

I watched all three episodes at the same time with a mate of mine who happens to be the ex of someone who was mentioned quite heavily in the programmes (no, not Robbie)
I was quite shocked at some of what she told me. I had no idea things were that bad tbh.
However the third programme I think it was where Blue featured just made me really angry and I spent the entire programme shouting at the TV 🤣

I spent a lot of time and a lot of money following Blue and got to know them quite well- which is why I will defend Lee Ryan to the ends of the earth. However any mention of Glatman just makes me really really angry 🤣 I told my friend the story in a previous episode about Lee and his stupid comment about 9/11 and she thought I was joking. She couldn’t believe it when they mentioned it in the programme!!!

I did enjoy reminiscing over Take That though. I was a massive TT fan when I was young- I met them twice and I’m on the ‘Satisfied’ vid on the Take That and Party video where it shows clips of fans at their album signings. I like to watch the video occasionally as my beloved late dad is on there with me.

20 mins left and there's no mention of Blazin Squad. The hold they had over me (after 5ive, of course) was unreal. I fear it may be a more niche adoration than I'd thought 😂😂
Oh dear 🤣🤣I was utterly obsessed with Kenzie 🤣🤣I was at uni at the time and I bought a Man United top with his name on the back. It cost me silly money and then in my excitement at a concert I gave it to him 🤣🫠
---
Omg Take That greeting their fans giving them a full on kiss on the lips 💋 #things that wouldn't happen now
Yeah I got one of those off Mark. I was 11! But I looked a lot older than I was
---
got the 3rd episode on iPlayer and my god, duncan james has never aged

must have a portrait in the attic
That’s not natural 🤣🤣
---
I’ll put this in a spoiler in case nobody’s seen the 3rd episode yet: apart from Duncan feeling he had to the hide the fact that he was gay, I don’t think the boys from Blue said anything overly negative about their time in the band at their original peak in the early 00s
Good job Lee wasn’t on then

Just saw an advert on Instagram, there's a boyzone documentary coming to sky shortly, so I'm guessing that's why they weren't in the doc...

Yeah I linked the ad a few days ago. Biiiiiig Boyzone girly here haha! Speaking of which I was listening just now to Louis Walsh on Nicky Byrne’s podcast and he said it’s a 3 parter! Wohoo!! 🥳

This was so funny! Not once had I ever considered Five as being “bad boys”. I had been an East 17 fan so we all knew REAL bad boys. Five were fluffy in comparison 😂

Did you see recently there was thing about some people only now realising the bridge in the song is the man putting on a female voice?

I thought that was obvious lol
I think that idea comes from the music video since Mena Suvari lip syncs that verse, but yeah, very obvious!

I know the guy who created the Spice Girls said he wanted to create what was going on in America with American artist like Puff Daddy and Notorious B.I.G. but five was nothing like them they were just another pop group with a sort of R&B flavour they missed the trick with damage. They could’ve been the ultimate British R&B boy band but Britain was too racist at the time. What chance did they have when smash hits was reluctant to even put a photo on their front page saying that if they put black people on the front cover the circulation figures of the magazine would be down well that’s a lie because Whitney Houston was the biggest selling female solo artist in the world throughout the 80s and 90s

Looking forward to this too:

I so can’t wait to watch this be interesting

It will be interesting to hear from girls aloud always sense that not all of them got on and it will split into with Sarah and Nadine on one side and Cheryl Nicola and Kimberly on the other

I saw the first trailer I've seen earlier today for the Boyzone doc as "coming soon",

now I just need to figure out how to stream sky documentaries without having sky 🙃
