I seem to be on my own here in not loving Robbie in the show. It was a bit past self aware for me, and seemed quite calculated and almost rehearsed. Designed to get the most airtime. I think it was sweet how he looked out for Sean though.

Yes, I have it on video, it's called Take That & Party. Watched it so many times! You got to see each of the boys individually in their favourite places. Fans have asked for them to be put on DVD but am assuming it's a rights issue as to why they never have been.
Did you see the playlist I found on YouTube? It’s got all the vhs tapes from days of yore!

I need to have a look. One of my favourite clips was when Howard took the piss out of Robbie's audition song for Take That, which as I remember was Nothing Can Divide Us

I do get what you mean. I like Robbie though I gave him the side eye about his reasoning for wanting to get back in with Take Take. From how i read it, he saw that Take That were popular again, getting a lot of acclaim, he watched their Circus tour and he wanted in. It's a nice sentiment but also someone wanting a piece of the action, now they were popular again.

His career at the time was huge anyway so it's not like he was on skid row career wise, but it kind of sounded off to me in terms of his reasons for wanting to get back. Maybe it was cathartic for him and a form of closure...but it also smacked of someone who wanted to get in on the attention that others were getting. But I do really like 'The Flood' anyway. Sorry for the ramble!

I don't like Robbie, I was a fan in the 90s, but now I wouldn't trust him as far I could throw him.

I think it’s a combination of being in America too long and having a ton of therapy. His therapy speak might come across as insincere, even though I feel like he probably is sincere.

That’s interesting. I’ve always kind of loved the way he told the story about wanting to rejoin - The Circus was an incredible show - but there’s definitely an element of Robbie wanting a slice of that pie (be it attention, adulation or whatever) now that TT had eclipsed the success they had in the 90s. Also, I think to a certain extent his career had taken a minor dip circa 2009. I think Rudebox and Reality Killed The Video Star took a bit of a panning (although I might be misremembering, I wasn’t following his career around this time at all).

Whatever it was, it does get me in the feels that they were able to reunite and put a bunch of demons to rest. Some more so than others - *cough* Jason *cough*).

No, you’re right.
The bit that surprised me in his documentary was how badly he felt about the Rudebox criticism. He really thought it was a decent song

I was just going to say thank God that F===ing Lulu is not there and her she comes. Looking forward to it all.
She was such a random choice. It would have been better with a clubbing diva like Rosie gaines or Jocelyn brown there were loads around at that time.

I'd love to know what the Jason beef / story is there. The guy is pretty much off grid (in a media sense).

I did a bit of band following in the 90s, originally TT, Gary was always boring, Mark was always a nice boy, Jason was nice too, Howard a bit off, and Robbie, well, as you would expect. I hated him For years, but definitely appreciate his self awareness now. did a fair bit of smash hits show on the road with backstreet boys, n sync, five, 98 degrees, A1 and eventually latched on to Westside/life. Bryan was always horrible, Mark sweet, Nicky nice, Shane beautiful and Kian the most fun and had a lot of time for you in those early days, but they got big quick and frankly I was too old to carry on with that life any longer 😂

I'm just watching the second episode and Emale 🤣🤣 I remember seeing them at some teen magazine event (must have been Live and Kicking or Fast Forward!!) and even at the age of 14 we knew they were tit. Me and my best mate still sing that tit song now
