Boybands Forever

That's really sad what happened to East17 compared to Take That and the bands doing the 90s/00s nostalgia circuit.

They don't make bands like they used to do they! My husband hates TT but has one of Mark Owens solo singles called "Clementine", always made me laugh.
One of? I think it was the only one that charted. How he had an entire album I'll never know. The memories this invokes are mad.

Wasn't a fan of Westlife at the time but they were the kind of band that were just always 'around' (kudos to Louis!) However their best of compilation released just before Brian left is pop perfection and one of my favourites when I'm driving 👀🤣
If I let you go and My love are underrated BANGERS!

My love is the best I think I'd have that as my funeral song

I know a thing or two about a thing or two and I'm absolutely not buying that explanation of the Brian Harvey incident. Not at all. The injuries do not match the explanation.

Four Minute Warning charted too. He released it after Big Brother
Oh sorry, I don't remember that one.

I know this is a happy thread but I'm having some real problems at the moment and this lurch back into a time that is nostalgic, yet was also horrific at the time, hasn't helped in the way I thought it might.

There's nobody I could say this to in real life so I'm saying it here.

Robbie seems to be doing really well. It's great to see and I appreciate the work that must have gone into him reaching that place.

I enjoyed watching the 3 episodes and reading along with this thread. For anyone who listens to podcasts Nicky from westlife has a new one out and he’s interviewed members of bands from the 90s in some of the episodes. Brian McFadden, Gary Barlow, Jo from S Club 7 and Louis Walsh is this weeks one.

I saw a trailer at the cinema yesterday for Robbie’s film. Watching him portrayed as a CGI monkey was so weird to me but after the trailer I want to see it 😊

Remember I was yearning to watch the Take That Everything Changes vhs during the week?

Fuelled by my Strictly wine last night I went searching the YouTubes and found this utterly epic playlist 👏🏻 to the owner! Clearly a 90’s gal like myself. All of the TT bts videos I had as a kid (and watched to death!)

A lovely way to spend a stormy Saturday night 🥰

I thought the documentaries were great but I think it would have been nice if they'd touched on how the boyband continues even to today? It made it sound like it died off completely in the mid 00s, and it was called 'Boybands Forever' after all! There was a bit of a gap but then of course One Direction revived it, and Kpop boybands are huge business all over the world (and I'm into them in my 30s) and still have the same kind of issues.

This will probably out me, as everyone I know knows this story….but Robbie called me a ‘sad cow’ outside the Dominion Theatre around the time of Could it be Magic and broke my heart. Mum wanted to break his nose and tried to call NMS to complain 😆🙈

Bless you! I never liked him, still don't!
