Agreed about the lovely filler-free faces we had back then. Any girl band that would come along now would be botoxed/filled and styled to perfection, a la Love Island wannabes.

A poster mentioned the styling for Eternal on Just a Step from Heaven video, but they looked amazing too on their TOTP performance of Stay, in their chic black ensembles I would love to try and recreate each of their looks.

Kerry Katona really was such a pretty young girl. She clearly had heaps of charisma too in person. I was sad when she said she spent loads of time in the pubs with her mother from a young age. I could only imagine all the creepy older man she would’ve had coming on to her.

I didn’t think Melanie Blatt came across that badly. I liked the way she told it straight and she was very respectful to her band mates, even though they didn’t like each other in the end. Nice to see that they are still good mates now though.

i saw 5 a few years at a 90/00 weekender and then saw 911, a1, 5 and damage at rhe boyband reunion tour.

It says on Wikipedia he got married the day after the band split. Seems like he really just wanted some normality

Gary Barlow was born middle aged.

He was always an old man before his time. Case in point writing a song like Million Love Songs as a teenager.

When they came back from their split songs like Patience, The Flood, and Rule The World were as good if not better than their first stint classics like Back For Good.

So what do they do? Change their sound and now I can't remember their last chart success or good song.

Slightly off topic but I just saw a clip of Brian from The Backstreet Boys' son on American Idol and it says he's 22. How is that even possible? I remember him as a curly-haired little kid when I was in my late teens. Now he's 22 yet I'm only 21! It's biologically impossible; he's older than I am.
Is it still 2008?

Welcome to the club haha. Was only a kid but always remember how happy Take That looked introducing them as Christmas number 1 on TOTP, which made a mockery of the so called rivalry and hatred the two groups had.

How is Lee from 991 fifty? He still looks two decades younger.

I am a man and remember watching All Saints on my birthday in 1999 and my ear drums I don't think have ever recovered from the screams Damage got as the support act.

So Good is my jam! A Different Beat was also a banger, but their version of Love Me For A Reason has a place in my heart . It immediately takes me back to January /February 1995 when I was 11 years old deciding which one I have a crush on (always Ronan btw), until a couple of weeks later MN8 came along and stole my attention ah simpler times.

People just don't watch TV in the same way, especially kids. 9 year old me had naff all to do in 1993 and TOTP was the highlight of my week. My 9 year old niece in 2025 and her friends would not give a fig, they're on their iPads and watching YouTube. TOTP would not get people watching and it's probably quite an expensive show, I don't think artists would bother showing up when they can promote their music more cheaply and effectively through their own social media.

All of these programmes have made me realise how important bands like Take That and Boyzone were to me growing up, I never saw Take that live as I was really young and my mum didn’t want to take me but I saw Boyzone and Ronan a lot live. I appreciate Take That a hell of a lot more now. I Liked Five, East 17 and Blue as well but not as much as the others.

Take that’s come back album was really strong on its own and as well as the singles that came from it Reach out and Like I never loved you at all are so so good! Well all of it is epic tbh. Not sure about them now as a 3 piece the magic was definitely all in the 90s when they were all together.

Had no sympathy at all for how Ronans solo career didn't work. He ditched the band at the first opportunity for it and sucked up to Louis.

Also did Westlife end up bigger? I know they more successful in terms of chart success etc. I wasn't a Boyzone fan but I absolutely hated Westlife
