Am I the only one who doesn’t think Ronan didn’t come across well? I really like Shane and Keith though and I hope Mikey is doing okay
I felt the same. I don't think he seems very genuine at all - very aware of how things sound. Also felt like he was making the sounds of crying without actually crying.

I’m off sick so finished it.

I thought Shane and Keith came over well. Ronan has long time been an ick for me so I’m probably biased but he just doesn’t seem genuine. Even when he’s trying to be humble it just seems self serving.

The bits about Stephen were so sad but overall it probably could’ve been half as long.

So today I watched the Boyzone No matter what documentary and then all 3 parts of Boybands Forever.

I haven’t caught up on posts, so apologies if I am just posting the same things:-

BOYZONE - Louis Walsh is vile. He was so smug, almost laughing about SG being outted. Wow! 😡

BOYBANDS - The part about Five seemed edited to miss a whole chunk. We all know the Sean left the band, needed help, and they used a cardboard cutout in the video. I don’t recall that being mentioned at all. 😞

Do you mean you don’t recall it being mentioned in the documentary about Sean leaving Five and the cardboard cutout being used?

It was definitely spoke about in the Boybands Forever documentary. Sean even said how he felt about the cardboard cutout

Apologies I honestly didn’t see it 🤷‍♀️. I will watch that ep again.

Just finished it all. Louis is a bleep.

I'm a bit conflicted on Mikey's stance and I think he is as well to an extent. He says the good outweighed the bad, yet he's focusing on the bad as a reason to not meet the lads for a pint. It's a sad way to leave things after 19 years together. And yet, despite his soap boxing over 3 episodes, he didn't say no to a reunion show 🙄

It wasn’t really explained why they fell out so spectacularly to never speak for so long. It can’t just be due to Ronan feeling they were unprofessional on the tour. It seems like something is being left out which for a ‘no holds barred’ documentary seems a bit off and convenient if it shows Ronan in a more positive light.

Sounded like him and Keith came to blows. And he’s not over it

Yeah they never said what was said between him and Keith. I got the impression that confrontation was the issue.

The band was obviously a toxic environment for Mikey from quite early on. You can still look back on the positives, and they may even out weigh the bad. But sometimes the bad can be so toxic that it can overshadow everything else. You can also crave those good moments again, but know deep down it's not good for you.

I didn't think Keith and Shane came off completely scott free. They clearly didn't take some things seriously and also had their issues which impacted the others.

I was expecting more from Shane about his past fight with Diddy, his drinking, his drunk awards speech etc but they didn’t really speak it

Poor Mikey he was too innocent for showbiz 😭

Ronan’s on Nicky Byrne’s podcast this week, should be interesting!

Really enjoyed the Boyzone doc! (Found it on Daily motion for free for anyone without Sky!)

However my sympathy for any of them wained towards the end. Their huge egos were ultimately the reason they broke up in 2019. Fans go to a Boyzone concert for nostalgia and pop music, not because these guys are the best singers. If their egos weren't quite so overblown, they could have stayed in their lane similar to Westlife and could still be touring.

I think if they were honest, carrying on after Stephen's death was financially motivated. For Ronan to say he regretted carrying on for the next 10 years is a bit of an insult to the fans who have supported them.

Respect to Louis, he's a total witch, but my God he owns it! Whereas Ronan's a witch, but desperately tries to cover it up 🤣

Ronan and Louis only fell out due to a clash of ego’s not because of how Louis treated the band. They are 2 cheeks of the same a and more alike than Ronan would admit!

Ronan clearly isn’t daft and got in with Louis at the very start in turn bleeping Mikey over who was then relegated to the back with Shane and Keith. I’ve only seen episode 1 but I was heartbroken for poor Mikey!

Had no sympathy at all for how Ronans solo career didn't work. He ditched the band at the first opportunity for it and sucked up to Louis.

Also did Westlife end up bigger? I know they more successful in terms of chart success etc. I wasn't a Boyzone fan but I absolutely hated Westlife :ROFLMAO:

Exactly! Ronan was teachers pet from day one. He effed it up for himself believing he could be a serious singer song writer 🤣

I would say long term Westlife did better. Credit to them, they listened to Louis and stuck with what did well (ballads and sitting on stools) and have a strong core fan base to this day. Their egos seems more in check than BZ. They know they're a middle of the road band and are happy with that.

Because of so many bands it had bits missed, it needs a show like Boyzones.
