Would people be interested in us doing our own list? Posters give a Top 10 and I'll compile them into an overall list?

There might not be enough of us to get 100 novels but I bet it would be more varied!
omg can you give me a full business week to think about it 😭😭

seriously, i love this idea. give me a couple of hours to consider and i’ll be back 🤣

No particular order, cannot guarantee I'd compile the same list next week, only two male authors, and two novels with the surname Mole in the title!

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 - Sue Townsend
The Woman in White - Wilkie Collins (agree that the Guardian list containing zero Collins but multiple Dickens is crap)
Persuasion - Jane Austen
Tipping the Velvet - Sarah Waters
Prep - Curtis Sittenfeld
Good Behaviour - Molly Keane
Miss Mole - EH Young
We Have Always Lived in the Castle - Shirley Jackson
The Country Girls - Edna O'Brien
The Code of the Woosters - PG Wodehouse

Picked up 1984 today in my favourite charity shop for £1 today. So looking forward to finally reading this next when I finish my current read, I have extremely high expectations.

Will think of my Top 10 - but fear it may not be impressive!
Just saw Homegoing in someone’s and I’m currently reading this! Only 50 pages in but really enjoying.

Also I’ve seen a few that I’ve heard reviewed on the The Book Club podcast - A Woman in White and The Hound of the Baskervilles particularly I’ve listened to them evaluate recently. If anyone is interested, it’s a really good analysis of the
Books they read. Really well informed, broken down and rated at the end. It’s Dominic Sandbrook and Tabitha Syrett and they have a great rapport and discuss interesting books. I’m listing everything they do I haven’t read so I can pick it up.

Reading everybody else's lists is making me annoyed at books I didn't put on mine even though I couldn't possibly have fit them all on 😂
