For me the joy of my Kindle it’s simplicity. It doesn’t have apps or a browser to distract me. I read on it and keep an unlimited supply of books in one place and that’s all I really need it to do. If you like things like wireless charging and auto adjusting lights then go for the signature, but if what you really want is just to be able to read I’d go for whatever gives you an upgrade on your current version for the lowest price.

No it doesn’t, You can use a c-charger. I have just been looking at wireless chargers and someone wrote. “I don’t know why I bought this as I only need to charge my Kindle every couple of weeks and I’m quite happy to plug it in.” That’s then made me think about not getting a wireless charger at all and just using the cable it comes with.

The only difference between the signature edition and the ‘regular’ kindle paperwhite is, the signature is £30 more, it can do wireless charging, has an auto adjusting front light sensor and has double the storage at 32gb compared to 16gb. However, the signature edition does not have a ‘flush front design’ but the ‘regular’ paperwhite does. I’m not sure what that means though.

I use my kindle daily and everywhere, brushing teeth, walking around the house, on the gym treadmill, getting ready etc so for me it would quickly pay for itself. I’ve missed the cut off point for getting it today so I’ve got until bedtime to dither if I want it delivered tomorrow.

It’s been on my wish list since the 1st November 2024 so I’ve been dithering for a year now!
I would get it at this cheaper price and you can always return if you aren't happy with it. If it's used every day you will definitely get your monies worth.

I have the Signature Paperwhite and have never charged it wirelessly/didn't get a wireless charger. Just seemed a faff. With a USC C cord it's easy to plug it in as and when it needs to be charged (which feels like very rarely!)

honestly, treat yourself, you deserve it. it sounds like you would use it loads and is a nice upgrade. consider it a little christmas present for yourself 🥰

my mum asked to see my kindle today and i had to launch myself at her before she made it to my library, which is currently full of what i can only describe as absolute filth. worth every penny! 😇

You might never have experienced this feeling, but I sometimes disappear into a book.
I've just resurfaced from my current one to to find my heart is beating and I've tears running down my face.
Luckily I'm alone or it would be "oh God she's off again!"🙄 Sooo embarrassing when that happens.😳
I'm currently reading The Queen Who Came In From The Cold by S J Bennett. It's a page turner.

707 pages and not a word wasted. I will review without giving details/spoilers.

The Strength of the Few - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow. Just wow.

When I read The Will of the Many I had no real expectations about what I was going to read. So when it was one of the best books I've ever read it stayed with me, and as you know I've raved about it for the last 18 months or so. My worry with The Strength of the Few was that my expectations and hopes were going to be so high they simply could not be matched and I was going to be left disappointed. But that was not the case.

I would say Part I worried me because its pace was slower, but I was aware that due to what was revealed at the end of the first book, ending with Vis in 3 places we ultimately have 3 stories to be told. So there is a lot of nee world building going on, new characters to introduce and a lot of establishing work to do. It's interesting and intriguing, but steady.

Part II and Part III however are when this book really steps up the pace and intensity. And from then on the book doesn't stop. This book hurts you, heals you, makes you weep, makes you laugh, makes you have hope, breaks you, puts you back together, piles so much on you and just keeps making you want more.

The complexity of the story, always leaving you to find out more history, back story and details later on keeps you guessing and intrigued. But still gives you enough throughout.

Ultimately I'm struggling to put into words just how brilliant this was. I feel bereft at the ending, it's an emotional rollercoaster for reasons you have to read it to understand.

And I'm just gonna spend the presumably next two years desperately waiting for the third and final part of the Hierarchy Trilogy to see how it all ends.

I was savouring it knowing I was going to have a long wait for the next one. And just taking it steady. Letting myself be imbued with the story. Not rushing through it. Just appreciating the masterpiece of writing.

Oh that's totally fair, I've not even finished the first one in that time! Definitely won't be rushing through book 2

I’m reading Espresso Tales, by Alexander McCall Smith. It’s the second book in the 44 Scotland Street series and it’s my comfort read

I'm struggling to find time to read as I have so much to do and my house is a mess etc, etc.
I've renewed one of the books I'm trying to read 3 times. I can see it's a good book, but I really need to concentrate on it, but my ability to concentrate is out of the window.
So I made a deal with myself to read 30 pages each night. I failed on night 2. 🙄
I was just reading the allotted 60 pages tonight when I slammed the book down, swore in my head and said "I need to just buy it!" It's about female ADHD.

It is so good, it's like me in a book and I only borrowed it from the library for more knowledge on neuro divergency. I assumed this was part of that group. Although they do say everyone can have these tendencies and Doom scrolling etc isn't helping our brains.
The book is called Invisible ADHD by Shanna Pearson. I think it's on audible too.🤔
Hopefully I can really focus on sorting my life out with the help of this book.
Another bonus is it's cheaper to get it delivered to my local post office rather than my home!
Winner, winner chicken dinner! 😁

Has anyone read beautiful weird by Alice feeney? I have been waiting agesss to read it and kept missing the kindle deal. Then it was 99p this month or a daily deal so thought yay! I read it and I’m so disappointed!!! It did keep me reading but I think that’s because I’ve heard so many good things about it.

Yeah, Alice Feeney is 50/50 for me. Rock paper scissors, Sometimes I Lie and Daisy Darker were all good, but Beautiful weird went nowhere and I Know Who You Are was repulsive.

yes! All book forms are welcome. I wonder if the trial is still applicable if you've had a subscription before...Very tempting. I must go investigate!

Update: Yay! the deal worked for me. Thanks Melian 🌷

It worked for me too and they gave me a £10 voucher! Takes a few times to get it to work as I only canceled the other day!

Part way through and struggling with it, not sure whether to sack it off or carry on.

Think I have been influenced by Booktok because all these creators saying these 'thriller' books had them on the edge of their seat and I find them so boring 🤣🤣 maybe i have a high tolerance level im not sure but please someone recommend me a book that will actually scare me.
