I've done the exact same today. The rants plus the detailed descriptions of some reality TV shows were unnecessary. The hatred towards God was hard to read at times as well.
This is what has me struggling too, there was an entire chapter describing Say Yes to the Dress? Why? 😂😂

I've just got to part 2...

Seb is giving me weird vibes and now I'm invested to find out more about him and how their relationship will pan out lol

Finished. 3 stars. First half bored me, second was more enjoyable but the ending felt premature. Weird book lol.

Hope it's okay to start suggestions, this sounds like a cute and uplifting summer read 🥰

This is the story of two women.
One old, one young.
One looking for new adventures. One looking for a purpose.
Both needing a friend.

And this is how, along with two little girls in need of a family, a gorgeous stranger, and a scruffy dog, they bring the whole community together every Saturday morning for love, laughter and a little bit of running…(well, power walking).

We can start making suggestions now 😄

But I don't know what book that is because Amazon won't add images for me and the link isn't clickable.

I will add up votes on the 28th, to give us Kindle 99p-ers chance.

I’ve been racking my brains for a July suggestion and I’m going with this, which is different from my usual thriller suggestions…

Apologies, it’s £2.99 so not one of the monthly deals but didn’t think it was too bad if enough people liked the idea of it.

Impossible by Sarah Lotz

One day, NICK and BEE cross paths over a misdirected email. The connection is instant, electric, they feel like they’ve known each other forever.

Nick buys a new suit, gets on a train. Bee steadies her nerves, gets a pep talk from her best friend Leila. This is it.

Except it isn’t.

Because as they prepare to meet under the clock at Euston station, the universe throws in a twist you’d never see coming . . .

Im going to nominate Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart for July book club. I read it last year but I would like to re-read it.

Born under different stars, Protestant Mungo and Catholic James live in a hyper-masculine world. They are caught between two of Glasgow’s housing estates, where young working-class men divide themselves along sectarian lines, and fight territorial battles for the sake of reputation. They should be sworn enemies if they’re to be seen as men at all, and yet they become best friends as they find a sanctuary in the doocot that James has built for his prize racing pigeons. As they begin to fall in love, they dream of escaping the grey city, and Mungo must work hard to hide his true self from all those around him, especially from his elder brother Hamish, a local gang leader with a brutal reputation to uphold.

But the threat of discovery is constant and the punishment unspeakable. When Mungo’s mother sends him on a fishing trip to a loch in western Scotland with two strange men behind whose drunken banter lie murky pasts, he needs to summon all his inner strength and courage to get back to a place of safety, a place where he and James might still have a future.

Deal: Young Mungo: The No. 1 Sunday Times Bestseller https://amzn.eu/d/0Eb9cTv

Psychopaths Anonymous was a 4* read for me. I am on holiday so read it in 2 sittings yesterday afternoon and this morning. The essays about reality tv annoyed me especially as they said Married at First sight was pods where you don't see each other until you get married and everyone knows that's is Love is Blind 🙄.

It was an enjoyable read. Didn't mind the god rants. Few plot holes but was a perfect holiday read.

I’m nominating a domestic thriller called “What the Neighbours Saw” by Melissa Adelman.
______________

Desperate Housewives meets The Couple Next Door in a chilling story of murder and intrigue set in a well-to-do DC suburb.

Sometimes the darkest acts occur in the most beautiful houses…

When Alexis and her husband Sam buy a neglected Cape Cod house in an exclusive DC suburb, they are ecstatic. Sam is on the cusp of making partner at his law firm, Alexis is pregnant with their second child, and their glamorous neighbors welcome the couple with open arms. Things are looking up, and Alexis believes she can finally leave her troubled past behind.

But the neighborhood’s picture-perfect image is shattered when their neighbor Teddy – a handsome, successful father of three – is found dead on the steep banks of the Potomac River. The community is shaken, and as the police struggle to identify and apprehend the killer, tension in the neighborhood mounts and long-buried secrets start to emerge.

In the midst of the turmoil, Alexis takes comfort in her budding friendship with Teddy’s beautiful and charismatic widow, Blair. But as the women grow closer, the neighborhood only becomes more divided. And when the unthinkable truth behind Teddy’s murder is finally uncovered, both Blair and Alexis must reexamine their friendship and decide how far they are willing to go to preserve the lives they have so carefully constructed.

I'm recommending Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. It's been all over my social media and me and my friends are already planning on reading it soon 🥰

I know it's hard to get a hold of this book because it's so popular right now, but I do have the epub file I could share for free (if anyone knows how I can do that here without breaking any rules)

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.
