Yeah, he’ll be so pissed off if he doesn’t win. I think, he thinks he’s entitled to win too - like, he wasn’t surprised when he won last year because he full expected it. but, he’s not exactly poster boy material at the moment for SW as he’s gained a lot more weight this year than he has lost .

If he wins in his group (by default not merit Ben!) could he technically be invited to the finals even though he’s put on weight?

Not a chance.
The criteria is very strict, at least it was for me. (It might be different for each final but when I went it was this)
You have the be a healthy BMI, lost at least 1 stone in the past 12 months and be close to your final target weight. Then when you arrive at head office for the competition, they'll weigh you just to make sure everything is all in check.

They were advertising as zero calorie across their range but they aren’t all zero (or something to that effect) it’s on the home page of the ASA
