I don’t condone any of Nathan’s behaviour, or what he’s done to Gael.
But she is a pain in the a.
Politely making it through the entire crew dinner to then start chewing Joe out in the taxi, in-front of others is bull.
It’s his charter season, he’s working, it’s his crew mates, his time to chill out & blow off steam.
Whatever has gone on before, speak to him in private.
I get a lot of this has probably been orchestrated by production but she should never have been part of this season.
Nathan should’ve declined Below Deck, in light of a brand new baby & taken a job in Australia so Gael could’ve stayed home, with a support system around her.
The whole show is really starting to lose its appeal for me.
Watching toxic, problematic people & situations leaves me feeling ick

Gen not realising she is the problem. I am loving kat telling her nicely and putting her in her place. I'd love to see her back in another season.

I don't get why Gail went to the dinner, if I got a night off I'd want to date my partner not have dinner with him and all his colleagues I don't really know.

I know we will never see Nathan and hope we never see Gen on another below deck season... though I'll take Gen over Solene, and several others who names have currently escaped me, that were only on it for fame and not being a yachtie.

Agreed, Aesha must be the nicest person on reality TV and really like her management style. She handled Gen so well

No Gael or baby seen on the show since the news broke about Nathan. I guess they can't edit out the bosun, but can remove her easily. From her posts she's doing well, very strong lady and I'm sure better off without him!

This is honestly absolutely unreal to me. He could’ve killed her but they won’t edit him out but matey (forget his name) posted racist memes (also bad, of course) and is immediately just gone. I feel like this is just another example of violence against women just not being taken seriously at all.

Absolutely agree, I mean we've heard nothing so presume he's still on the run, he should have definitely been edited out, though showing it is proving what a nasty piece of work he is.

Its only because he was a bravo favourite. He would have got edited out otherwise. God knows why he was though. I think they overestimated how much viewers were invested in his and Gaels relationship

I'm not sure about this. She did sound like a pain in the a but not all her fault. Nathan has been feeding her lies and crap about Joe all season. There have been quite a few scenes of him sending her text messages. She is just going off that (plus their previous interactions of course, which were not great, but also instigated by Nathan). I am sure now she has watched this season, she would have a better idea about how toxic Nathan was with Joe. Early this season, remember Nathan threatened Joe on a night out after he mentioned Gael's name? He has massive anger issues, which we are all aware of now.

To be fair to her, she’s in an abusive relationship. I’ve definitely been in situations before where I’d have been seen as the problem but it was the lesser of two evils; if I was seen to not have my Ex’s back (for want of better phrasing) with whoever he currently had issue with, it was going to be 10x worse for me when we got home. Nathan may well have pulled the same tit with her, ‘oh I’ve been defending you all season, now it’s your turn, you see what he’s like’ etc.

Gael’s voice was shaking the whole conversation with Joe. Whether it was as I say or whether it was production led, I don’t believe she really wanted to have that conversation. She may well hate Joe (understandable) but I believe she’s between a rock and a very hard place.

Gael had been isolated for months with a newborn, the only adult conversation she had was probably with Nathan moaning and moaning about Joe. I don't think it was right what she did, but she was in an abusive relationship and probably felt she needed to stand up for Nathan. It's probably hard enough for her to watch this season after everything that has happened without people abusing her over this. I hope she doesn't give bravo the time of day now, the least they could have done was cut her out of the rest of the season, but they care more about ratings and showing scripted arguments.

I’ve been thinking the same re Bravo pitting ratings above everything else. As if she needs a bunch of people (myself included in this I appreciate!) raking over and over her behaviour, picking fault and holes in everything she did at such an awful time of her life. Aesha has made a statement.

This is also shows classic signs of being in an abusive relationship. She’ll stick up for him or cause trouble out of ‘loyalty’ for Nathan. You see it a lot where the victim in the relationship is actually seen from the outside as the volatile one or the outspoken one. It’s usually because they want to do something right for their partner. I’ve not explained it very well but sometimes they’ll rile their partner up so in public they look like the ‘unhinged’ one so if they were to come out and say they were abused in the relationship then they look like they are lying and the abuser (Nathan) will look like the calm and cool one. To me Gael is acting like someone in an abusive relationship. Nathan has probably never stopped going on about Joe and it’s affected their relationship so she’s tried to put a sort it out but because it’s not really her ‘beef’ it comes across like she’s just creating trouble. Also Joe and Gael didn’t get on in the series they worked together.

The only good thing that has come out of this is that Nathan has fled. We won't see him on our screens anymore after this season is over, and hopefully there's a slim chance Gael will reconcile with him especially how he will definitely be banned from entering Australia after what he has done. I know people that have got back with an abusive partner as they want this perfect life of a complete family, even going onto marry and have more children when the abuse is still going on behind closed doors. I do hope Gael knows her worth and stays well away from him.

Honestly I can hardly watch it anymore, it's such uncomfortable viewing knowing what Nathan did and knowing Gael was most probably being abused the whole time this was being filmed.
